Hi,

any idea how long you should leave getting pregnant after a c section?

I was advised to wait at least a year, but I know others have been told sooner. Good luck

I was advised a year by mw, but at my 8 weeks check I was told by the GP she was being over cautious and the lower part of the uterus doesn't come into play in pregnancy until the latter stages but she didn't give me an alternative time frame.

Stupidly and irresponsibly I am pregnant again over 5 weeks and my DS is only 16 weeks. I am pretty sure the GP didn't mean this soon Blush

hi, i wasnt given any advice there. there's 17months between our 2 youngest. 2nd was vbac after 1st was emergancy c-section.
the only thing was that i got some pain during pregnancy where the scar is as everything was stetching, and im sure the c-section scar hurt more than down below when i was giving birth to #2!
but health wise-no probs, prob just me being a wimp!

I was not advised to wait and was pregnant again by time DS was 6 months - never had any problems with the pregnancy. Both were ELCS.

I was told to wait at least a year by my MW. she didn;t really say why, but she did say i had had such a traumatic preg and then labour, so i thought that was why, but obv not :) lol

Altho my friend said she was told 6 weeks. But i don't even think my scar had healed properly by six weeks!! lol

We are now TTC no2 and DD is nearly 30 months old.

My scar does still hurt sometimes, i get twinges in it sometimes.
