This is a very wanted, planned baby but I am feeling very nervous. Feel I might muck things up for dd, five and ds, two. Is this normal? And will it be okay? Honesty appreciated, but break it gently- very hormonal!!

Hi I am pg with DC3 (surprise but we wanted a third just surprised about when) I have had all the feelings you have descrbed and another one I keep thinking something will go wrong because I am being greedy, had two healthy children e.t.c.

a very tentative hello from me, i have just got a BFP but very early stages for me, but surprise no3 as well (just the timing) and as i had a MC last year, i'm worried that i'm pushing my luck as i have 2 healthy and happy children already.... oh to be optimistic for a change!!! x

Yeah know how you feel, 26 weeks with a planned and wanted baby - but suffered with PND last time and my two are 6 and 3 so worried about rocking the boat so to speak as life pretty easy (as it can be with young kids) at the moment!!! It will be fine, just keep telling yourself that!! There's no point worrying about something you cant' change!

I have that "pushing my luck" feeling too. But I know the "what if we'd never tried" feeling would be stronger. I think I vaguely remember omg feelings with number two too, just it seems that nearly everyone sees two as logical.

be prepared for lots of people to ask you if it was planned - esp as you have a boy and a girl already, we have a boy (age 6 nearly) and a girl (age 3 1/2), I got constantly told that I wouldn't want to have anymore as I had the perfect family - which really wound me up as if we'd have had 2 boys or 2 girls it would have been perfect for us (if that makes sense!).

congratulations on number 3 - my two are so looking foward to having a little sister nad although it freaks me out soemtimes, I'm looking forward to it too!!!

littlebylittle I totally agree. I am 35 weeks with dc3 and definitely felt more nervous throughout this pregnancy, with no reason at all.

FreudianSlippery · 25/01/2011 17:38

I am not pregnant but I totally understand!

We decided to stop at two, but we just had a pregnancy 'scare' and after being devastated by the BFN we've agreed we may TTC in a few months.

I'm scared though... I've spent nearly 2 years convincing myself I couldn't cope with 3...

Totally normal. We had a thread going on here recently where lots of us are pg with no. 3. I was so pleased I said
I was felling this way as most others said they felt very much the same.

Of course it's normal.

It won't "muck things up", it will just change them. Some things will be better and some worse, and which things those are, will change over time.

I still regularly look at my 3 and think, "omg, what did we do this for?" but that's probably with reference to all of them, not just the third one Grin

They are fighting upstairs at the moment and I should possibly intervene. But there were many days in the summer holidays this year, when I didn't have to bother taking them out or organising friends over, because they were so busy playing together. They are 8,5,and 3 at the mo.

With regards to pushing my luck with the 3rd pg - umm yes. I was. But we're alright now [wanders off humming nonchalantly]
