ebay, i flogged all of mine.

mostly next i think and they went for about £10 for a dress.....

elsiemarley · 24/01/2011 19:25

I've had some quite good stuff from new look or DP's in the past.

Millymolliemandy · 24/01/2011 19:39

Try Asos, they have a brilliant maternity section and loads of stuff on sale - I just got 3 funky dresses for £34; they haven't arrived yet so not sure what the quality is like but it is not as if they are going to be needed for too long, and at that price, it doesn't massively matter. H&M is also great; good for work stuff.

JeewizzJen · 24/01/2011 19:42

I second ebay - I bought a big bundle of really nice tops for an absolute bargain price!!

blueberryboybaitonSafari · 24/01/2011 19:44

O got some reasonably funky stuff from H&M.

spikydahlia · 24/01/2011 19:46

It is tricky. Ebay is ok but I found not having a chance to try before I buy a problem. I found mothercare best for basics (try sales when poss) and got a few extra nice bits from pricier places . NOTHING IS CHEAP! My mum was kind enough to cut the waistband off several pairs of charity shop trousers and add a band of stretchy fabric. If anyone out there is nifty at sewing I suggest they go into business doing this!!!!!

nancerama · 24/01/2011 19:47

I got some great bits and pieces from Very.co.uk, love the clothes and the prices, but their delivery times if up to 1 month leave a lot to be desired! Don't they realise I have a limited window of opportunity to wear these things?

TopShop have some lovely things too, and a few Gaps have a great maternity range with the most comfortable jeans and trousers.

JBrd · 24/01/2011 19:55

New Look do some nice tops, also Asos. You can get good deals in the sales from the more expensive brands like Jojomamanbebe.
Also, I found some really nice non-maternity tops at The White Stuff, stretchy tunics in funky colours and patterns, just bought 1-2 sizes up from what I normally wear, and they are perfect over the bump.

I agree with spikydahlia, nothing is cheap!

diyqueen · 24/01/2011 20:00

New Look - for example jeans for £16 - and H&M. Asda also do a maternity range in some stores. Pick a couple of nice maternity things that can be layered and combined into different outfits and then see which tops you can still squeeze into e.g. to wear under a maternity top. I've also tried to find some 'normal' clothes that fit to wear now (loose tops gathered under the bust etc.) so that I can wear them afterwards as well to hide the saggy belly without having to wear maternity stuff or buy new things until I can fit into my nice old clothes. And accessorise... enough necklaces/scarves/whatever and you can detract from the most boring maternity top!

clarebear1 · 24/01/2011 22:46

I got most of my bits from ebay, few Asos dresses, h&m stuff and basics from peacocks, asda :-)

Sparklies · 24/01/2011 23:47

For really cheap, Matalan and Peacocks aren't bad. I got some serious bargains (think £3 for a top, £5 a dress) in the Matalan sale recently. George at Asda as mentioned is good too.

Jojo Maman Bebe had a good sale on recently that someone linked to on here, so I bet most of their stuff is gone now!

eBay otherwise. Especially bundles of clothes - some real bargains to be had.

TheEvilDead2 · 25/01/2011 02:19

ebay, asda , and freecycle do loads I've noticed

jimmijam · 26/01/2011 19:16

thankyou for all your suggestions!!
my ebay maternity jeans arrived today to keep me going 4 a while, am only 8weeks along so my tops still fit fine at the mo, will wait til 12 week scan before buying anything else.
...so any more suggestions, please post! :-)

I just bought a dress and skirt in the Jojomamanbebe sale. Total cost: £13.50. Bargain!
