just been given the flu vaccine that has mercury in it.

Went in for flu vaccine this afternoon after a huge amount of thought and various discussions with DP and a number of medical professionals.

I specifically asked the nurse if the vaccine was one of the ones that does not contain mercury and was assured that it was fine. The vaccine was fluvirin.

I get home and look back at the MN flu webchat and find that I have been given fluvirin which is the one that DOES contain mercury.

I don't know what to do now. Please assure me it will all be okay. I was worried enough about this vaccination without having this shit to deal with too. I'm 28 weeks pregnant

I sympathise. I avoided the flu vaccine because of this. My mouth is a mercury factory due to fillings and it freaks me out. The research re mercury and neurotoxicity is inconclusive. You will find empirical research to suit whatever stance you believe in. If there is a risk, it is not certain that anything bad will happen. Also, it is highly likley that the mercury dose in the vaccine is within the normal/safe limit.
