Have no idea if this is something everyone gets in pg. For past 2/3 days bump suddenly seems to have outgrown it's space in my tummy and I've been getting tear inducing IBS type pains especially around the top half of bump (which is odd as usually my IBS cramps are in bottom half). Have no idea if it's just things getting squashed or IBS itself. It happens when I eat, after I eat, when baby moves, when I move, when I drink - so pretty much alot! It's getting to the point where I feel sooooooooo hungry but can barely eat anything as that sets it off and I'm feeling so upset with it as I don't know what on earth I can do. I've also been feeling quite dizzy today but that could be completely unrelated with other stressful things going on.

ANyone else got this? Did it get progresively worse to the end? Anything I can do to help other than little and often with food (which I'm doing)? I've got such a headache as haven't been able to drink enough due to that setting it off too.

SOrry, just feeling a but sorry for myself and down with everything today.

Hi there,

could it be gas? I have had a few episodes where I've had trapped wind and it's been really painful- and has radiated right up around my chest area. I think as the baby gets bigger there's less room for the bowels so could be getting squashed a bit. If I were you I'd go to the doc as they may be able to help. You may be feeling dizzy from the lack of food so its important you go to the doc as you have to eat well for the baby's sake- and yours! poor you.

I just thought of this as I've had IBS in the past and sometimes trapped wind (as embarassing as it can be) can be the most painful thing ever.

hope you feel better soon

Thanks Sara. DOn't think it's wind as I've had that in the past and it's not that sort of sharp pain when it's trapped IYKWIM. It just feels like everything is mucked up. I think I'm managing to eat enough but I'm just finding it all so hard mentally now and having this pain throughout the day and night is so horrible. I'm seeing mw on thurs so will try and hold out until then. I'm wondering if it's partly squashing and partly IBS from stress as have workmen doing the bathroom his week and it's making me really anxious and stressed and they keep asking me things and getting me up the stairs to check things (and tis exausting to go up and down stairs for a fat lump like me now). It also started in my AN class on sat which I was mega stressed about (can't deal with labour!).

In that case maybe it is stress related- hope the mw can help- a hypnotherapy CD might help with relaxing you- I found it helpful with last pregnancy and doing it again this time. good luck!

Thanks Sara. It got so bad last night that I caved and went to GP today and she agrees with IBS and have some medication to help the spasms. Really hope it helps! Have been trying hypnotherapy like nobodies business which helps a bit :)
