No 2 - very big bump!

I am 24 weeks preg with no 2. DD1 is 21 months so haven't had very long gap although was back to my pre preg weight before starting again. Also last time I was quite small looking till the very end. This time however I seem to be huge already, people are commenting and I am getting slightly concerned. I am only 5'4 so slight and this is a boy so perhaps more out front but is this normal? I'm not really looking fat elsewhere iykwim but its all out front

I'm not due to see midwife till 28 weeks and am wondering whether I could go to mat unit for quick check or whether I am just wasting their time?

Am starting to wonder if I am growing a huge baby and whether I should be changing my ways. Am not eating massively loads but am hungry (more so than last time) and so def eating regularly!

Any thoughts?

Im carrying twin boys and im ALL in front so it looks super dooper huge!! I had twin girls 2.5 years ago and put on weight everywhere so it kind of took the emphasis off the bump. Think boys you do tend to carry more infront so looks bigger but if your worried ring them anyway.

Oh your the same weeks as me too and I saw the midwife this week and im measuring 27 weeks instead of 23 (at the time if thats any help)

I sympathise as I am 23 weeks and have a huge bump. I'm getting sick of people asking me if it's twins (very funny) and am wondering how much bigger I am going to get. If you have had a scan then I'm sure that all is well but you could always call the midwife and mention it to her if you are really worried.

id say yes you are normal each pregnancy is different, and supposedly your 2nd time you tend to be bigger, however in my case the 1st time i was huge at the beginning at 22 weeks pregnant i looked massive, but towards the end i was tiny looked bout 5 month pregnant so you may find thats the case with you, now im 28 weeks with my 2nd and at the moment im tiny, dont even look pregnant really and people dont believe me, but im betting on having a massive bump by time im due.everyone and each time is different, ive carried totaly different in my 2 pregnancys and they are both boys

I agree everyone is different and every pregnancy is different. I have three boys and carried all of them differently. I barely looked pregnant with no.3 at any time, was tiny until about 32 weeks with no.1, when I then got huge and was huige with no.2 from the start.

I'm currently 16 weeks pregnant with DC6. I am huge. Bigger than I was when I was 24 weeks with my twins (girls, only got as far as 24 weeks). Not sure what gender yet, but was scanned a couple of weeks ago and baby was measuring a week ahead, but I doubt that would make much difference at allt o bump size at this stage.

I do think though, if you have been pregnant once, your stomach muscles do get damaged and next time you're pregnant you do tend to look pregnant sooner or just show more throughout.

I am expecting my first this April. Went for a check-up with my doc at 25+6 and was measuring out at 30 weeks! And am still measuring very large for gestation, I am also petite and only 5'4'.

They are gonna refer me for a scan, and are checking blood sugar levels to be on the safe side. I guess, everyone is different. Might just be carrying lots of water or might be having a big baby?!

We will see!

By the way..it's a girl?! (big girl)Grin

congrats all on your pregnancies and glad that I am not alone! ohfor I know what you mean about twins.. I mean really how is that ever funny! Also I am getting "my goodness you are huuuuge!" which is equally rewarding!

Have realised I could probabally book a midwife appointment without too much problem so thinking I might try and see her on weds just to check. Am just worried I might be doing something wrong and causing baby issues.

Thanks for replies! Smile
