I had a BFP last weekend (after 4 positive tests!), which puts me at 6 weeks and 3 days. Because I've had an ectopic pg before, I went for a scan on Tuesday, but they weren't able to see anything anywhere (apart from a thickened endometrium). Up until this point, I was getting mild nausea.

I have another scan on Monday - it's been a long wait.

I'm really worried because I have no symptoms, apart for very slightly sore breasts and some v v slight bloatedness. Neither of these are very pronounced, and maybe aren't pg symptoms at all! No nausea at all now.

Can anyone please put my mind at rest that this is normal???

Congratulations!!

Completly normal, many people sail through pregnancy without 'classic' symptoms. You may find that nausea comes back in a few days, but if not, believe me, lucky you!

Good luck for Monday :-)

The only symptom I had with my daughter was weight gain. I totally understand how you feel. Until I started showing I felt like the pregnancy wasn't real. I am now pregnant with DC#2 and always feel sick...so enjoy it while it lasts, you may not be so lucky next time.Smile Good luck and congratulations!!

Wigeon · 22/01/2011 13:27

I didn't have any symptoms at 6 weeks with either of my two pregnancies. With the first I didn't really have any symptoms until at least 12 weeks!

Saffra · 22/01/2011 14:07

Thank you... That's a little reassuring to hear that.

I suppose I am mentally preparing myself.... 'just in case' it's bad news.

I actually felt like I was pregnant before which is what compelled me to take the tests. I actually took 6 tests in total, the first 2 were negative followed by 4 positive ones. I just felt pg somehow, which is why I carried on testing, but now the feeling seems to have gone.

Fingers crossed I am maybe one of those lucky ones.

The waiting is driving me mad!

Congratulations! Both of my pregnancies I have had no symptoms until around week 9 and then only a bit of sickness (that increased around week 11) and feeling tired.

laylasmummy09 · 22/01/2011 18:09

hiya im 7+1 and have no symptoms exept tiredness and after a missed miscarriage last year im peetrified its all gone wrong again, i was sick as a dog in the last pg and with my dd too so i was very much expecting it again this time but it hasnt come yet, booked in for a private scan a week today as i couldnt get 1 on the nhs, i am also trying to mentally preparing myself just incase, good luck x

LadyOfTheManor · 22/01/2011 20:07

I was 5 weeks and "they couldn't see anything" so they took blood to check for the hormone. At 7 weeks the results came back and it was positive!

I had terrible morning sickness, which kindly didn't kick in until I was about 8 weeks (lasting until I was 14 weeks). I had some tiredness but not until the sickness (they sometimes go hand in hand, tired of being sick, sick of being tired) I had sore breasts from the day of conception (bugger as I usually sleep face down).

Enjoy it, because if you are going to get sickness, the later the better...! Some women don't get sickness, I hope you're in that category!

ecuse · 22/01/2011 23:21

Totally normal! I had no sympoms except sore boobs around 5/6 weeks which went soon after and being tired, which at the time I thought could easily have been all in my mind. Nothing 'concrete' until about 15 weeks when I started getting pelvic girdle pain .. Congratulations!

ninani · 22/01/2011 23:45

There are many women without any symptoms at all! Not even mild ones. Are they going to do an internal scan? Our hospital before 13 weeks only does internal scans because the baby is inside the pelvis and the other scan can't detect the baby. I have read here stories of women who were 8 weeks pregnant and the sonographer refused to perform an internal scan as an alternative and told them that they had miscarried which was not true! Always keep your hopes high!

Saffra · 23/01/2011 19:45

Thanks everyone...thank you so much for posting and your positive comments. It's really good to talk about it as it's driving me more than a little bit crazy.

They did an internal scan as well on the last appointment, and couldn't see anything either scan.

I did another test when I got back (pointless actually, I know! And actually silly when it's an expensive clear blue digital one.... Blush ) but I suppose I wanted some reassurance in some way - that I hadn't imagined it to begin with. From being really, really excited at the BFP, I went to feeling really flat and have been anxious for nearly a full week. I've convinced myself it's bad news (another ectopic or mmc). I suppose these strong negative thoughts are quite natural? (The previous ectopic was very traumatic for me).

Then, yesterday, after I did a work out, my boobs were killing me! As in, really sore! I had to hold them while I was working at the laptop afterwards! I am taking that as a hopeful sign in some way. Crosses fingers hard

My appt at the early pg unit is tomorrow morning, so not much longer to wait now.

Thanks again.

Congratulations, really pleased to hear it :)

WiiUnfit · 24/01/2011 19:22

Congratulations! So glad to hear everything is well with you & your little one. Grin

I didn't even know I was PG til around 8 weeks (irregular periods before due to combined pill to mini pill transition!) & the only symptom I had before I know was slight nausea every now & then so it's completely normal, after I had my BFP however, nausea central! 18 weeks now & all nausea gone, baby doing very well!

Wigeon · 25/01/2011 08:13

Congratulations Smile!

SophieWh · 25/06/2018 08:24

Hi Rosie123!
Do you have any update?
It could be comforting also for me as I am about 6 weeks. Had one miscarriage a couple of months ago as there was no heartbeat.
No symptoms at all just a bit of tiredness which I do not necessarily attribute to pregnancy. I do not even feel anxiety, like previous time.On the contrary I feel very relaxed.
I am also a bit nervous. I have an appointment on Friday to have an ultrasound.

Hi guys, I’m six weeks in, had a few symptoms then one day a really sharp pain and all of a sudden all symptoms disappeared. I was convinced I had MC, but then had a scan and we saw a heartbeat. I think symptoms come and go and may not even surface enough for us to notice at all. It’s so scary , I know the feeling but I would try to stay positive, from what I’ve been reading and what I’ve experienced it’s sounds like each pregnancy is different in one way or another. I hope everything works out for you xx

newmom39 · 28/07/2019 20:51

Hi. Im currently 6 weeks pregnant at 39 on my 1st. Up until this week i had a bit of cramping and sore boobs. This all seems to have stopped now. Should i be worried? As its my 1st i dont know what to expect

Danayb · 31/10/2019 15:33

Hi. I’m currently 6 weeks pregnant. I was constipated last week and had really sore boobs as well as being extremely tired but this week all the symptoms seem to have stopped. I’m still tired but not as much and I am still using the toilet frequently but still nothing alarming. My breast have gone back to feeling normal. I have my first scan next week but I’m just so scared, this is my first pregnancy.

I just want to prepare myself just incase it’s bad news. Is it normal?

I’m also diabetic and my blood sugars were really low last week and have been low this week but not as much.

Lina15 · 17/04/2021 17:16

Any update plese

Niecy0233 · 13/06/2022 23:57

I’m 6 weeks today and haven’t experienced symptoms. Boobs feel normal, no nausea.. I’m a little bit more tired but that’s all. Should I be worried?
