Since the baby started to engage I have been getting these pains each night and they are very painful. The last few days I have struggled to get around the house because of these sharp pains. Sometimes I can feel the baby pressing down on my cervix suddenly which is very sore but mostly I am getting sharp pains in my groin.

Is this a worry or just par for the course?

Dh just had to help me off the toilet, pains so sharp I couldn't get up. Anyone else had this? Should I talk to the midwives?

My midwife told me this was likely to be the baby moving down. I was also on the toilet when it happened to me and couldn't sit down or get up it was so excruciating all around my groin area.

The only other time I had it was when baby moved around so its back was on the opposite side and then down too - that was agony. Again midwife made me feel better.

If you're really worried it won't hurt to call someone - better to be reassured.
I'm 36 weeks and sometimes it feels like I've got a bowling ball wedged down there!
Best of luck with the birth and your soon-to-be-here little one! :)
