I say 'guess' as my periods never got back to normal after coming off the mini pill and before I found out that I'm pregnant. I had 16 days, 35, 29 and then I found out!

The midwife has put our wedding anniversary date (which would be lovely!) - but I'm wondering how right/wrong they usually are!

Thanks

I told my GP/midwife when I was due. Grin

The scan confirmed it to the day.

I think the stat is that 5% of babies arrive on the duedate. Most first babies arrive after, I think. My DD arrived 2 weeks after predicted due date.

iskra · 20/01/2011 16:42

oh, sorry, did you mean correlation between date given at scan & date based on LMP? In my case I think there was one day difference. But DD still arrived 2 weeks late - on the date I thought she should be born on given my 35 day cycles...

fantus · 20/01/2011 16:43

Hi Newmummy, have you had your first scan yet? Whatever date your midwife has given you will be ammended to the date you are given from your scan. This will be much more reliable I would think due to the irregularity of your periods prior to becoming pregnant. Congratulations BTW Smile

pipplin · 20/01/2011 16:43

Dead on. I am in that 5% arriving on duedate. I think I'm in a small minority as it was my first too.

Newmummytobe79 · 20/01/2011 16:46

Hiya - yep I meant LMP (sorry - still learning on here! (blush)

Not had scan yet - should get my date through in the next two weeks!

My stomach feels further gone than 8+5 but I know that's probably in my head! :)

Oh GP rather than scan! Oh they were either 2 days out.

WiiUnfit · 20/01/2011 16:59

Hi Newmummy, first baby so I'll let you know come June! Just wanted to tell you our baby is also due on our Anniversary! :o

Deliaskis · 20/01/2011 17:01

I knew my LMP date that the GP first used was wrong, as there was no way I could have conceived mid-month. New DD (based on scan, and fitting with what I thought) is 9 days later than first DD (based on LMP alone).

Baby due Feb 19th so we will see!

My EDD hasn't changed from my first MW appointment. I'm now 31+4

sh77 · 20/01/2011 17:05

Scan was one day out from LMP date.

missmehalia · 20/01/2011 17:06

They will jiggle your DD when they've done a scan. Even then, I was 10 days over both times. Some people take less/more time to make their babies, imo.

fantus · 20/01/2011 17:08

With DS my periods were all over the place after coming off the injection so we had no idea of a due date until the scan. DS was 9 days late.

Second DD I was certain of when she was conceived - had been trying for 18 months - and periods were like clock work. An early scan gave the same due date I had worked out. DD arrived on her due date!

BatMar · 20/01/2011 17:11

first guess was the 3rd of March. First scan said 19th Shock(which was annoying to know I was two weeks behind what I had thought!) and second scan said 16th of March. Going by that one now! I'm 32+1 now :D

ooh and I'm new btw! this is my first post!! Grin

lunafire · 20/01/2011 17:17

The date my GP suggested and the one those silly little wheels come up with is nowhere near mine as I don't have a 40 day cycle. As I know the date of conception I've told the MW what my due date is and declined the dating scan so no contest Smile

Oneof4 · 20/01/2011 21:12

Scan said I was four days ahead of LMP-based date.

maxpower · 20/01/2011 21:15

My GP was one day out with both of my pg - but neither of my LOs arrived on time - one was 41+6 the other 38+2 - so you also need to remember that babies turn up when they're ready irrespective of EDDs Wink

fatpantsandgladrags · 20/01/2011 21:22

My EDD was altered by 3 days following scan with DD1 and by 6 days with DD2. I had them both at 37 weeks though so I would say don't get too fixated on EDD!

lunafire · 20/01/2011 21:49

sorry that should say...I don't have a 28 day cycle but a 40 day one Smile

HLSalter · 20/01/2011 22:06

The date my midwife gave me was 3 days too early according to my 12 week scan.

Not really that pleased to be honest as I am due on the exact date I had a miscarriage last year Confused

Chloejp91 · 20/01/2011 22:34

My EDD according to the scan is 3 days ahead.. I still think it's the 28th January rather than the 25th though.. Mm we'll see!
