does anyone know what this means? Its on my maternity notes from the urine test at my last midwife appoint?

Can't find anything on the web that looks remotely like it! Thanks :)

It's your leukocyte count. Mine's always high. Normally if it's high it's because you have a urinary tract infection.

Perhaps she's referring to leukhorrhea?

ButterflySally · 20/01/2011 15:38

Ah, ok, cyclebump's response seems more likely than mine!!

can be an indicator of infection, esp if combined with protein in your urine. If you have no symptoms of a UTI I wouldn't worry, just up your fluids and maybe drink some cranberry juice if you like it.

oh brilliant thanks. I'm prone to UTI's anyway (had two already this pregnancy). I started worrying it was blood or something!

I may be wrong but I think the Protein count is the one checking for blood and if they'd found any they'd definitely ask loads of questions.

I posted a thread a couple of days ago about my leukocytes as they're always raised and I don't think I have an infection as I have no symptoms. My mw says loads of women get raised levels as so many get minor UTIs in pregnancy.

Am now 28+3 with no issues.

I was told I had that the other day and apparently it's leucocytes and could be due to urine infection.
