I've got a stomach bug (Vomiting and Diarrhea) and have eaten very little in the past few days as not much stays down.

I weighed myself today and was shocked to see I've lost 5 pounds in just 4 days. Is this dangerous? I read somewhere that it is more important to drink. TBH this is also a problem and my pee this morning was very very dark, but I am making a real effort today to up my fluids.

Should I force myself to eat or just stick to fluids?

Fluids are definitely the priority.

But if it's been 4 days, I'd see your doctor about it -- he or she will be able to evaluate what's going on and what they can do to help you get back to normal.

Keep the fluids up - and maybe introduce some clear soups (like chicken broth) if you can manage them. And talk to your doctor.

that 5 lbs will come back on once you start eating and drinking. I wouldn't be worried, just drink and eat to appetite. If you are actually still vomiting after 4 days I would speak to your GP but otherwise I'd ride it out.

Thanks for the replies. I did see the GP on Tuesday. She thinks it's viral and making my morning sickness worse.
I haven't thrown up today but then that's probably because there is nothing in my tummy, the Diarrhea unfortunately is still there.

Don't worry too much if you can't stomach food at the moment. You're baby is well protected. The most important thing is keeping your fluids topped up- as said in previous posts.

Keep drinking and get well soon!Smile

I lost a lot of weight when I had flu (almost a stone in a week) as I couldn't keep anything down. Everyone I saw just said that it would affect me before it would affect the baby. They are very efficient parasites! I tried to eat and drink when I could and started on chicken broth when I felt a bit better. Do you want stories of mini pasta coming back up the same as it went down, or would that be tmi?

Hope you feel better soon.
