not sure what to do, i'm 8+1, this is my 4th confirmed PG, i've had 2 prev m/c's with DS inbetween.

with my last m/c the baby stopped growing at 6 weeks but I didn't miscarry until 8 - pretty much the same the time before.

From the off i've had strong symptoms - nausea, boobs have felt so heavy it's untrue haven't been able to have the big 'o' with DP (sorry tmi) other than orally, which is in line with other pg's, (sorry tmi again) Also was able to feel a spongy type thing just above my pelvis. (also couldn't stop burping pretty much constantly little ones)

now I just have the residual sickness sort but boobs are mainly fine and the O occured normally.

am I worrying unnecessarily? i'm hoping so, with DS I felt sick but didn't really have anything major symptom wise.

also w.e just gone have been v v weepy, and also fancied different foods - again all of that has stopped.

I'm assuming symtoms do come and go? can someone hold my hand?

First booking in apt wiht the m.w is tuesday, not sure if to be scanned first over the w.e and pay privatly? tell me i'm being paranoid....

Hi dtm,

This must be very worrying for you - especially given your history. Although I'm essentially going to tell you not to worry, I don't want you to think I'm dismissing your worries - this sort of thing has really worried me with my pregnancies and I've not had your awful experiences.

However, I do think symptoms can come and go and I think that, if you still have some residual sickness - even just a gagging feeling - then all your symptoms haven't completely gone anyway so this is also a good sign.

I worried terribly with my first that my symptoms had gone but I was fine.

Will you be having an early scan anyway due to your experiences?

xx

Poor you, it's such a horrible wait when you have had previous MCs. To offer some reassurance, I had a MC at 9 weeks in mid 2010 and got pregnant a couple of months later with this pregnancy. I'm now 27 weeks. At week 8, this time, I had some brown bleeding and all my symptoms seemed to go. At the start of the week I had sore boobs and sickness, by the end of the week it had gone. I was convinced that I was having another MC. Told DH and went off for a scan, expecting the worst. Everything was fine. No idea why the symptoms went but I did find mine come and go.

You might just find that it's a change and not indicative of anything worse. Can you try to go to the EPU at the local hospital and get an early scan. I managed to do this, though I think it's easier to get an appointment if you are bleeding, surely your history should allow you to get an NHS scan though.

Loads of luck and fingers crossed for you.

Hi thanks for replying. i'm going to they and see at the m.w tuesday if they can get me one earlier than 12 weeks, otherwise i'll pay for one sooner - tbh i'm strongly thinking about doing one on the w.e for peace of mind.

The sickenss was before from morning to night, now it's when i'm not eating (and not as strong) otherwise god knows, to be fair thought I was moaning before that I hated it as it was far worse than with DS lol.

hello, I just had this. Previous mmc, and then this preg. my symptoms really began to subside and I felt normal at about 9 to 10 wks, and lost my appetite. really scared so went for a private scan today, and they have changed my dates from what was 11 wks today, to 12wks 6days- so basically moved me 2 weeks forward... still with the last period dated though.. apparently you symptoms can subside from 10 wks, as the placenta takes over, and your body gets more use to the hormones

davidtennantsmistress · 21/01/2011 10:24

thanks tel for the reassurance, sure ly thou at 8+2 it wouldn't - to be fair thou with DS I was always about a week and a half ahead of my dates, so I guess it is possible?

we've booked a private scan for tomorrow at 11.20. Just hoping now they see a little heart beat.

Good luck for the scan tomorrow. I had 2 miscarriages following the birth of DS. I now have a 9 month old DD so I know exactly what you are going through.

You are right though, symptoms do come and go. With my 1st pregnancy my symptoms disappeared completely at 9 weeks and I was convinced I would miscarry. Thankfully I was wrong. And yet with my 2nd mmc my symptoms remained strong right up until the day I miscarried.

With my last pregnancy I did the same as you and booked for an early private scan as I could not bear the agony of waiting and not knowing. I will keep everything crossed for you x

DanJARMouse · 22/01/2011 12:28

Ill update this for DTM.... there is a heart, and she will be 9weeks tomorrow!

All good so far! x

fantus · 22/01/2011 17:54

That is great news, very very pleased for, had my fingers crossed x

davidtennantsmistress · 24/01/2011 08:17

thanks Jarm, yes there was a little heart, that's all we were interested in.

9+1 now (yay!) sickness is also back with a vengeance (sort of a HA mum you thought I wasn't here i'm sure lol) so relieved DP & I still smile when looking a the DVD we were given.
