I am looking for opinions an ideas on this situation because I am more than a little confused...

Approx 2 weeks ago I passed (old) bloody mucus over a couple of days. ?? plug

1 week later, (last Thu) I started dribbling water..clear, no smell, frequently throughout the day. I was due to see the midwife the next day so just waited.
On Friday I felt a pop and some more water came out before I saw the midwife.

I explained what had happened...baby has dropped ... and was sent to AMU. Blood and protein in my urine so they sent to test for UTI and started antibiotics. They monitored the baby, everything ok, and said there was no evidence of contractions so sent me home.

I was at parent craft on monday and every item mentioned by the MW fo signs of early labour are happening. Lower back pain, pressure on my bowels, intermittent cramping. The MW was concerned that no internal investigation was carried out and my urine result showed NO UTI????

I was checked....speculum inserted and asked to cough... no fluid came out. They again sent me home saying I was fine but couldn't explain where the fluid I have been passing is coming from.

I am just vey confused and concerned... what is happening????

I'm not sure if this will help but when I was 40 weeks + 6 days, I had a lot of fluid coming from down below. MW sent me for internal, asked to cough etc.
They could only put it down to vagina self cleaning prior to birth. It depends on how much fluid really. My pants were wet/ damp every few hours but if it's more than that I would definately go back. Or if you are worried go back! (sorry for TMI Blush)

My slightly eccentric midwife said if you ñot sure then pop some kitchen roll in your knickers and jump up and down. Wet kitchen roll = waters gone
Dry kitchen roll= was prob baby pushing on bladder

waters have a different smell to urine, hard to describe kind of sweet. so have a wee sniff and see it that helps

thanks for your replies. I will try the kitchen towel idea and see what happens Grin

fyi - I had a moment with my last pregnancy when I thought my waters had started going - after going to the loo once (wee if its relevant!) I stood up once done, and 'fluid' came out - turns out in the final stages of pregnancy its really common to get a large amount of watery discharge... .could be that?

Thanks. I am probably just anxious.
