Will anyone join a new baby bus with me?

I just got a BFP this morning so its very early days for me, but I'm so excited I thought what the hell, I'll head straight for the pregnancy thread anyway Grin

If all goes according to plan this will be DC2 and due on 2nd October. Ive enjoyed being on the October TTC bus so I thought it would be fun to continue over here.

Link for Baby#3 :)

I too am having third though not posted anything on there yet. Reality not sunk in yet - don't think it will until I can start telling people!

familyofthree · 04/02/2011 11:13

may i please join the october bus?

just got my BFP on wednesday :)

NotACompleterFinis · 04/02/2011 11:24

What is BFP? I'm rubbish at understanding all these letters!

SazzyM · 04/02/2011 12:08

Hiya all, feeling a little better today, not so sicky. Boobs are huge and I'm starving...but then bored about half way through the meal. Really can't believe that the symptoms happen so darn soon - i'm only about 5 and a half weeks for goodness sake!

Planning on telling my mum on sunday, she's just broken her wrist and could probably do with cheering up, I'm hoping the whole not being married thing won't be too much of an issue! My boyf was pretty shocked at the news - and I think i sort of ruined the plans he had for a proposal, but if he will take 4.5 yrs to pop the question, what does he expect!!
He is currently freaking out about the sleep deprivation and money, but getting excited about teaching the little one to swim! What are other people's partners like?

OptomisticBiscuit · 04/02/2011 12:47

I'm bloated too, I snuck scissors into the toilet at work and furtivley snipped through the elastic part of the waistband of my tights yesterday, sweet relief! They were digging in so badly and no matter where I positioned them they were uncomfy.

I've got more energy today, and boobs less sore, but fell asleep infront of the TV at 9.30 last night - just could not keep my eyes open.

SazzyM · 04/02/2011 14:53

I literally love the idea of snipping open tights!

arabella36 · 04/02/2011 16:03

I sympathise with you other bloated people who are having waistband trouble. I recently bought 2 pairs of skinny jeans (high waisted) and am wearing them often as I know they'll not fit for long! Its too early to have gained weight but the bloating makes me feel about a stone heavier!

Am not looking forward to weekend socializing as (a) people will guess when I'm the only one not drinking and I don't want them to know in case of mc (am only 6 weeks tomorrow) and (b) I want to go to bed at 7 o'clock every night to read books/ipad and get lots of sleep.

Anyone else going to bed at a ridiculously early hour since pregnant?

hello and welcome to all the new BFPs Wine You may as well have a virtual glass of wine as that's all you'll be getting for a while Grin

Anyone heard from muffins lately?

Hey everyone
Arabella - I was wondering where you'd gone!

Still no morning sickness just feeling starving and strangely empty.

Also very emotional. Last night I sobbed my heart out Blush and poor DH didn't know what to do! I know I cried because of hormones but I also have reason to cry (IMO) - what set me off was my awful client who is unbearable and who I have to work with for at least another 3 months if not 6.

However what really made me sob was Blush the fact that I don't have any friends to hide my pregnancy from Blush. My 4 real friends don't live in the same town (or even country for a couple) so we don't meet up often. I'm seeing my 2 best friends in March but by then I'll tell them. My family all live abroad (well the UK, technically I'm the one abroad) so the only people I'm hiding my pregnancy from are my colleagues.

And to be quite honest I don't think they'd care that much about my pregnancy!

I have quite a few mates who would care about my pregnancy, but I know them from karate and we don't meet up outside training and as I've stopped going to training sessions....

Basically I was feeling very sorry for myself and sobbed for a good hour! Blush

Sazzy- DH is utterly thrilled I'm pregnant. We've been longlisting names and the other night he announced to me he wanted to start a ritual : he would kiss my stomach every day between now and the birth!

CrawlingInMySkin · 04/02/2011 16:31

FluffyDonkey I dont have any friends to hide my pg from either Smile at least not any I see often.

kateepie2 · 04/02/2011 16:40

Can I join the bus please? I got a very very faint BFP at 11DPO today, hoping like hell it sticks, but resisting the urge to pee on any more sticks till the morning! Grin my due date is 17 October, apparently (according to ff).

SazzyM · 04/02/2011 17:44

I totally understand what it's like moving away from friends Fluffy and it is really crappy when everyone's so far away - especially when something like this happens! Looking on the plus side though - whenever friends of mine have had babies they all seem to mysteriously pick up a whole new gang of people (from NCT/pregnant yoga etc)...AND these will be people who want to talk endlessly about baby-stuff in the way I know mine won't!

I'm seeing a friend who has just had baby number 2 tomorrow with some others who all know we've been trying. I don't know how my steely determination to keep quiet is going to work!

Ugh - I want to go home and flop but still have tons of work to do. Feeling reasonably self rigeous though - have had an orange, nectarine and vege stirfry for lunch...Did let myself with a flapjack...but i used the oats excuse!!

SazzyM · 04/02/2011 17:46

Also - crossing fingers for you katee and thanks for the virtual wine arabella...i downed it!

arabella36 · 04/02/2011 21:10

Glad you enjoyed your wine sazzy Grin. They say each pregnancy can be different, and I'm not missing having wine this time whereas I'm sure I did in the first few weeks last time. Strange.

Welcome kateepie

fluffy, you did very well not crying in front of the unpleasant client. It's got to come out somehow though and a good cry at home sounds like a pretty healthy way of handling the emotion/stress. Otherwise it would all build up and it would be harder to stay calm in work. The pregnancy hormones turn me into a weirdo who almost cries at the least provocation, like a marginally sad story on the news or even radio/TV ads which aren't even remotely sadConfused Thats tough being away from your friends, but if it makes you feel any better i think most people keep it to themselves in the first months anyway so you're not really missing out in that way if you see what I mean (tired and inarticulate!)

Hi and congratulations kateepee2

Fluffydonkey your DH sounds very sweet Smile

NACF BFP stands for Big Fat Positive - I only worked it out recently, thought it meant something highly scientific. Grin

Mumtopiglet · 04/02/2011 21:44

Hi ladies, I too am jumping off the bus as had a mc on Wednesday. Very upsetting but glad that it was so early on (6 weeks). We hope to try again in due course.

Wishing you all the best of luck for the coming months xx

arabella36 · 04/02/2011 22:01

Sorry mumtopiglet and best of luck to you :(

Penelope1980 · 04/02/2011 22:03

Sorry to hear that mumtopiglet.

fluffy I know it can be hard abroad as have lived abroad a lot myself, but sazzy is right - you will probably meet a lot of people through this experience. I hope you feel better anyway.

Penelope1980 · 04/02/2011 22:04

Oh and like you others, am so bloated. My jeans felt a little tight yesterday, which feels far too early at 6 weeks!

Linda40 · 04/02/2011 22:10

Mumtopiglet, so sorry about your news, all the best to you and your family.

Im 5 weeks today, having a scan at 7 weeks due to MC last year..... the waiting is terrible!

Not feeling sick but very bloated, jeans feeling tighter! Feeling tired today, nodded off in the hairdressers! lol

olismum23 · 04/02/2011 23:28

Hi I would like to join the bus I have been through a bit of a MMC scare this week found out i was pregnant on the 21st of jan but my hormones are only going up every four days however i had a scan today and found baby at 5 weekish with a strong heartbeat!
I now feel ready to join and be positive about this pregnancy which will be my #2 DC I have a 23mnth old DS. Unfortunately i am not so sure of my due date as of yet :)

dribbleface · 05/02/2011 09:27

Hi all, having trouble keeping up!

mumtpiglet I'm really sorry to hear you news.

Well i told my boss this week. Had no intention of telling so early but he called me Monday (I work wed-fri) to tell me we had chicken pox in the nursery (i manage it) and he thought i should know. I was being dim and asked why i needed to know that, he has a habit of calling me about random things, to which he replied, well i thought you might be pregnant! I denied it, not sure why, guess i was shocked! I decided to confess on Wed. Guess he knows me too well after working together for so long!

Re: tight clothes - my god i am bloated, i actually look pregnant already Blush. I was like this with DS, there is a picture of me at 8weeks with a definate bump! I then didn't grow much until 20 weeks ish when i ballooned!

Have woken up feeling shocking today so DS watching ceebebies while i MN and lay about in my pj's! Will make some cakes with him or something in a bit to make me feel less guilty!

ALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 05/02/2011 10:29

I have tried posting here three times and everytime MN went offline and ate my post! Fourth time lucky!

dribbleface I too look actually pregnant Shock I'm trying to just live in leggings and long, chunky cardigans. Thankfully it has got a bit colder this week so I won't back underneath my hiding clothes!

mumtopiglet Sorry for your loss :(

jagjac · 05/02/2011 10:40

morning all, i too noticed this morning i look pregnant, it does seem to early lol, i am also very emotional but also irritable, im snapping at my dp alot, poor bnloke but he's been great, he's so excited, i have 2 other children from previous marriage aged 7 and 5 but this is mine and dp 1st baby together, cant wait my other pregnancies were difficult due to dv but this time round im wiv a lovely bloke and can relax and enjot the pregnancy :)

Ninunina · 05/02/2011 11:35

Morning ladies, I had my post eaten up last night too, but was too tired to post it again. I see a lot of you are getting some "real" symptoms now. I was getting worried a few days ago because I wasn't feeling anything anymore (only slightly nauseous & slightly tender boobs). I also noticed a bit of brown discharge last night when I wiped (sorry if TMI), but didn't have any pain and there's nothing there this morning, so trying not to worry about it too much. Also woke up feeling more nauseous, so finding that a bit comforting. Has anyone else experienced some spotting?

jagjac · 05/02/2011 14:35

hi ninunina, i've had alot of brown/pink discharge for about 5 days now, i had an early scan because of it aqnd everything seems how it should be for nearly 6 wks, im still spotting now, so i know how you feel, im booked in for another scan on the 21st so hopefully i can a heartbeat and relax a little, but apparently spotting and brown discharge is completely normal, hope that helps
