Black mark from wedding ring

Hi all I'm new to the forum so first post. I have just noticed the skin around my wedding band going black like it does with cheap rings, I've had the ring 2 yrs with no marks and its definately real gold. I googled it and apparently it can be a sign of low iron- been nearly 7 wks since ive had bloods done and iron levels were fine. Just wondering has anyone else experienced this? I'm 16+5 btw.

Get another test done or speak to your doc. You can get over the counter Iron supplements. I'm on spatone which is liquid form and I take it with my orange juice everyday. At least you can still wear your ring... my fingers have swollen up :(

Yeah i prob will do that but was just wondering was it actually true- hate going to the doc saying i read it on the internet cos theres so much crap on it too!

Oooo interested to hear this- I have v expensive watch which has just randomly made my skin black. Saw dr this week who sent me for blood count cos she thinks i'm anaemic. Will let you know the result!

Got blood results back and I am mildly anaemic. Maybe there's something in it after all.

Could well be debka will get myself checked out this wk - although i mentioned it to my SIL today who's a pharamcy lecturer and she just laughed and said she never heard that before so who knows!

I've never heard this before, but wear a nice watch and it leaves a black mark on my wrist.

I am borderline anaemic. So maybe there's something in it!
