Looks like I am pregnant again and it's too soon.

I had DS 15 weeks ago, he was born by emergency section. Looks like I may have been stupidly irresponsible and fallen pregnant again.

I was told to leave it a year post section by midwife. When I saw GP for 8 weeks check, I was told the midwife was being over cautious and there was no neeed to leave it that long at all, and discussed the ins and outs of what happens during pregnancy and that the scar area only comes into play in the latter stages and by then it will have had at least 6 months of healing time.
She advised me to use barrier contraceptive (condoms) instead of the pill as I have a history of fertility problems and if I was to try after havign the pill it may cause further delay.

So now I am really upset not really about having another as that is not the end of the world and it is my own stupid fault.
I am more concerned about what will happen due to it being so close to having had the EMCS.

Any advise would be really helpful please, and please don't judge me I know I have been irresponsible.

Dont be so hard on yourself.

have you had a positive pg test result? if not, do a test asap. you may be worrying over nothing. your cycle will be all over the place at the moment, if you have even ovulated at all.

argh pressed send too soon.

My SIL fell pregnant about 3 months after her first baby was born by emergency section, she had a VBAC with no problems and the results are now 15 and 14 years old respectively - there's about 12.5 months between them.

and she's a nurse so she should have known better than to take any risks!

Have done one test but the control line took a very long time to appear and there was a very very very very very faint line in the test strip, but not convinced, the test actually worked if that makes sense.

If you took a first response early result, I've noticed that; that for some reason, the test line takes quite some time to appear.

If there's a very very very very faint line in the test area then, so long as it appeared within ten minutes, then.. well, the saying is a line is a line. Mine was barely there when I tested at 10 days past ovulation, yet the next day it was very noticable indeed.

DId you use the first urine of the day? That could make a difference too.

TO me, it sounds like you are pregnant. I've never had a section so can't advise (although from what I've read I think you'll be much happier once you hear from a few more women here and speak to some informed health professionals) but wanted to let you know my experience with tests just two weeks ago.

Sorry, the control line takes some time to appear, not the test line (although at first the test line also took its sweet time!)

Retested both lines came quickly, 2nd line much darker this time.

Ah congrats Smile for whats its worth my sil got pregnant 12 weeks after her 3rd c-section and went on to have her 4th healthy boy by c-section 12 months and 10 days after her last one Grin

Congratulations, unless you really feel like you can't cope your body will cope fine. my dsis had 1 then 2nd 13 months later then 3rd 14 months post 2nd. All cs. After 3 she was told that she would need to leave it a bit longer so that her body could get back to healing itself properly but they decided to stop at 3 Grin.

The only thing it might do is that you might find you have to have another cs, which I think in this country would limit you to just having cs for a 3rd + if you wanted them.

I know the enormity of it all seems quite scary, but you will be fine Smile

Thank you everyone. I already have a DD who was a VB, so would have liked another, but it wouldn't be the end of the world to have another section really.

DS was 4 weeks prem and DD was 1 weeks early, will this affect an ELCS, what would happen if I went into labour early would they have to then preform an EMCS?

Sorry for all the questions, but I have lots.

Blimey - there must have been something in the water!! You are about the 8th thread saying much the same thing!! There's going to be a whole bunch of mini mn'ers all the same age Grin

just popped in to say as owner of similar thread (though my DD is almost 1).

Lets stick to a mantra of "twill all be fine" as we sit and rock manically!

Congratulations Thandeka, been doing that most of the day, can't see me stopping for the next 8 months so I will be sticking to it.
