Hi Just seen midwife I am 25 weeks, just had protein plus plus plus ie three!! fingers and ankles are swollen too. Said that it is early to be pre-eclampsia. This is baby three for me already have two boys 10 and 9, never had this problem before only had obsetric choleostais with first boy. Midwife said its a greater risk of it as now with new hubby to be. Any words of wisdom ladies??

Yes, it's early to be pre-eclampsia but it could still be pre-eclampsia! How was your BP? What was the outcome? Please don't tell me you're not going to be seeing anyone for weeks and weeks now as this needs monitoring/possible meds.

That is fine, even if your pre-pregnancy bp was lower.

Do you have any symptoms of a kidney infection?

Look, I'm not a doctor but incredulous that she'd record protein+++ and not want to follow it up. I'd be tempted to make an appointment with my GP - it may be just a fluke result, in which case, no worries. But without being rechecked and then looking into what could be causing it... well, if someone else was saying they had this problem to you, what would your advice be? Most of us would say get it rechecked. But sometimes as much as we know that, we need to be told it! So. Please get yourself rechecked Smile with the GP if necessary.
