I'm nearly 11weeks would you say it would be okay to dye my hair or not

Yes. I did. I did wait until then to be on the safe side though. Probably best to stick with semi permanent rather than permanent as there are less chemicals, if you're nervous.

No reason why you shouldnt. It is my understanding that the problem with hair dyes is increased sensitivity of the scalp not dangerous chemicals in the dyes any more. Perhaps do a patch test? My hairdresser said foils would be better if I was worried and I might find any ammonia based dyes too smelly to stand but as she is a colourist and 8 mths pregnant I trust her.

I was worried about using permanent dyes so switched to semi permanent while pregnant. The only drawback was the dark patches on the pillows during a very sweaty labour Blush

My hairdresser said its even more important to do a patch test but fine for permamnent colour when that is done.

I went from nearly ginger to black!

My obstetrician said it is fine. I have switched to semi-permanent as an extra precaution.

There is a lot of controversy about dying hair in pregnancy! I guess as with anything if you can avoid it then do! Tea isn't good in pregnancy but that is like asking me to give up my right arm!!! :-p
