went for a swim this morning to try and ease up the edema. Got out and when I went to the toliet notice blood (red/fresh) and clear mucus. Now has turned dark brown like end /beginning of a period. Is this the plug? Or have I damaged something? Eek!Shock

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

That sounds like your plug, but with dc3 mine came away about a week before she was born

MrsNoggin · 18/01/2011 12:29

It does sound like your plug. The movement of swimming probably helped moving things along a little Grin.
It can bleed a little when it comes away, apparently, but if there is more red blood I would get it checked out.

Thanks, ladies. I will keep an eye on it. (So to speak!)

According to one of the pregnancy books, if your show is reddish / pinkish you will hold your baby in your hands with 24-48 hours. It happened to me Grin

Good luck

Ladyopheliastar You never know. Not everything in books is true, but could happen. Either way, wish you all the best.

winnybella · 18/01/2011 13:55

Yes, mine came away on the day I DD was born.
38+2 iirc.

But, of course, it doesn't necessarily mean you'll go into labour today or tomorrow.

StrangewaysHereICome · 18/01/2011 14:00

Ooooh excited for you Grin. Hope it all goes well!

Crystylline · 18/01/2011 14:06

lost my plug at 34 weeks; i'm now 39 weeks... so don't panic!

might be awhile yet. Smile

growing3rdbump · 18/01/2011 15:09

I lost my plug on a Saturday at almost 38 wks and baby was born on the Monday (38wks exactly)! I didn't take much notice or think I should perhaps get things more organised, stupidly thought I would have plenty of time to get the ironing done etc!

Ladyopheliastar · 18/01/2011 18:48

Just have small amounts of brown period like discharge still. Didn't see bits of plug and haven't either...
