I have had a couple of episodes where I have experienced an intense localised pain in my flank near the top of the bump. It is an agonising pain like being stabbed which lasts a few minutes and fades leaving a bruise like soreness. The pain comes with no warning and it is left side only in the ribcage. I wonder if it is a result of the muscles near the bump stetching but it doesn't feel like it?
