i am nearly 17 weeks pregnant and have been feeling fluttering until last week. As i have had two miscarriages i don't know if it is normal or not for the fluttering to stop all of a sudden. any advice would be great as i am worring all the time.

I felt fluttering from quite early on, too (15.5 weeks) and had a total panic at 18 weeks when I didn't feel anything for a day or two. It is normal for it to be a bit on and off (maybe baby has changed position or something). However, I also had an mc with my first, and I would say a visit to the mw would be worthwhile to allay your fears. Better to reassure yourself - the worry is torture, I know!

Take care and report back, won't you?

xx

Yes that's completely normal. 17 weeks is quite early to be feeling the 'flutters', but it's a great sign...Over the next few weeks they will get stronger and more frequent. I was also 16/17 weeks when I first felt that bubbling feeling, it does come and go though. If you lay down for half an hour and focus on you belly, you can normally tune in to them. I am now 25 weeks and they are more like punches now! I miss the gentle flutters, rather than kicks in the ribs!Grin

Yes totally normal, the baby is very light and small at that stage so can easily find positions where it can't be felt. At my 20 week scan I could see lots of movement and it even turned itself round at one stage and I didn't feel a thing!!

Thanks everyone for the advice, i called the midwife today and she checked the heartbeat and baby fine. Can't wait to feel the big kicks next!
