Hope this is the right place to post this.
My not-entirely regular (usually 31-33 day cycle) period didn't show up when expected last week and I did a test on day 35. It had a very faint line which I thought was just pigment. That night my period showed up or so I thought. It was extremely light and lasted for less than 24 hours. I use a mooncup so could see there was very little blood. That was Saturday. No bleeding Sunday or today and I thought it was odd so did a digital test, more to knock the idea that I might be pregnant on the head than because I really thougt I was - I didn't think we could have conceived this month given what I thought I knew about my cycle.

The test is positive 1-2 weeks!

I am now panicking a little that the bleeding was a very early miscarriage and the test is only positive because it was so recent.

Any thoughts anyone?

Are those tests 1 - 2 weeks since conception or 1 - 2 weeks as the doctors would count it? It sounds to me like you had some late implantation bleeding. A friend of mine had this - was convinced she'd had some kind of miscarriage but an early scan showed that in fact there was no problem and she had her little girl about 2 months ago!

Good luck.

Do another test in a couple of days. It could be that your bleeding was an implantation bleed or your body getting slightly confused and not stopping your periods (I had 'periods' for the first couple of months).

Either way in a couple of days you'll get a strong positive or a negative.

Thanks for the replies. The digital test is 1 to 2 weeks from conception, so 3-4 weeks as a doctor would count it.

I did wonder about implantation bleeding but I didn't have it first time round with DS (I think - I had only just come off the pill so it was all a bit confusing) so I have no experience of it.

Some women spot all through pregnancy so try not to worry and there is the implantation bleed that some women get - it doesn't matter if you've never had it before, all pregnanices are different.
tentative congrats Smile

Thanks Ed. I am sitting here desperately resisting the urge to go and pee pointlessly on a stick....

I did, cos I had very faint positive lines, I did 17 tests in the end :D

I wouldn't worry, op have already said so won't repeat, but I bled with 2 of my boys and they are here fine :)

Thanks everyone. Unfortunately last night it became clear that this was a chemical pregnancy.

Disappointing but at least we had less than 24 hours to get our hopes up.
