Is this wrong??

Just a quick question. This will sound weird but am wondering about dangers of smelling hand sanitizing gel. I have got a bit of a penchant for the smell of that stuff you find at the docs. I am 40 weeks pg and have noticed that whan I smell it the baby moves. Doesn't say anywhere it's dangerous but would hate to put baby at risk for the sake of some weird smell craving thing.

It won't be dangerous unless you are eating it! I am a nurse and so am using it all the time, sometimes up to every 5mins for 8hrs. I am not smelling it all the time but can't really avoid the smell when I am constantly using it. Someone would have noticed by now if it was dangerous and putting babies at risk as lots of pregnant women either do a similar job to me or are in hospital and so should be using the stuff too. Don't worry!

Not sure what type you are talking about but if it is ethanol based its obviously not great to sniff it intentionally very regularly.

Thanks! I know it sounds odd but have recently had a weird smell-based thing going on, love the smell of soaps and especially that hand gel (possibly due to lack of booze for soooo long!)

Not sure but I can sympathize. I don't crave foods but smells. I inhale the smell of certain underground tube stations, magazines, building sites.

im also craving the smells of hand gel...i squirt it on a flannel rub it in and just sit there and sniff it for hours ...dp thinks im insane but i like it an baby always kicks so he must like it too lol x
