Just wondering when you began to feel little flutters/ movement. Only 12weeks but heard some people say they had feelings as early as 13? anyone else been that early?

Nope. I felt the first tiny pops around 16-17 weeks. Now I'm 19+2 and I am getting quite big thumps now and again and the occasional feeling of my baby turning over/doing a flip which actually makes me feel quite queasy for a couple of seconds. I have an anterior placenta though so that muffles some of the kicks. You'll love those feelings - I am even starting to figure out when baby is usually asleep (lunchtime and early afternoon) and when he is awake (from 7pm until 10.30-11pm). Hope this helps.

Thanks - getting excited but was surprised when people said could be as early as 13 weeks i expected it to be much later. Not really had any symptoms except bump getting bigger so looking forward to real pregnancy sign Smile

Hi this is my first pregnancy and I didn't feel 'popcorn popping' type movements until 19 weeks and now I'm 23 weeks I'm feeling kicks throughout the day. I haven't been told I've got an anterior placenta either so I guess its just different for everyone. It's very reassuring feeling the kicks though - feels like you've got a lovely secret!!

SpannerPants · 16/01/2011 15:03

I had some fluttering feelings this morning but I thought it was a bit early (15 weeks, anterior placenta) so I had a listen with the doppler I could hear the baby bouncing around at the same time I could feel the flutterings!

I'm looking forward to feeling proper kicks but I'm sure I'll change my mind once I'm being woken up by them Grin

Ba8y1 · 16/01/2011 15:17

I felt a teeny tiny nudge every few days (i.e. v infrequently) whilst sitting absolutely still on my long bus commute from 12 weeks. At the time I just thought it must be wind etc and it was way too early to feel anything (first baby) , but all that happened as my pg went on was these nudges got more frequent, higher up and more definite!

Have posterior placenta and a very very active baby (now 37wks) so I guess that might be why I felt something so early!

Good luck with your pg and congrats! Smile

About 20! Now currently 27 weeks and feeling loads more.

cowboylover · 16/01/2011 16:46

I felt strange feelings that I could not explain as not digestive and at 21 weeks now feeling proper flutters and now 23 weeks with kicks!

jezebelle · 16/01/2011 16:48

I'm on baby number 3 and could feel him from 14 weeks, now 18 and getting more frequent movements :)

BPrincess · 16/01/2011 17:08

Suspected at around 19, but def at 20. I think your weight (ie the amount of padding you have around your tum!) makes a difference to when you feel things, and whether it's first pregnancy or not. This is my first and I'm quite 'traditionally built', so I know a lot of others have felt things earlier!

A friend of mine best described it I think: like a little fart building up inside!

Petalouda · 16/01/2011 17:14

I suspected from quite early on, but had very definite movements from 18 weeks. Now at 30 weeks I get a routine beating from the inside at about 8.30pm every day (with some very polite tapping and hiccuping during the day), and currently it feels like he's trying to rearrange my bladder and entire pelvic region. I have no idea what's going on in there but it's not entirely comfortable!

He's also developed my habit of rolling over in bed in one go (apparently pre-pregnancy I'd do some kind of flip, leaving the matteress entirely), although he's doing it in utero.

How on earth do some people not realise they're pregnant?!

lilly13 · 16/01/2011 21:13

At about 18-19 weeks...

jellyhead188 · 16/01/2011 21:50

depends, with your first I think its not usual to feel it till nearly 20 weeks, with my second and this one (3rd) I felt them at about 9 weeks, little bubbles etc. But I have been pg 6 times (had 3 early m/c) don't know if that makes any diff!

witches · 16/01/2011 21:57

Thanks for your replies. As i said looking forward to having real feelings of pregnancy - although SpannerPants ur right ill prob be on here complaining about not sleeping because of it soon enough! Wink

I felt little bubbles at 14 weeks while lying still in bed, bigger bubbles at 16 weeks, and since 20 weeks I've felt her doing backflips and strong kicks - I'm now 23 weeks. Congrats on your pregnancy :-)

Leilababyno1 · 16/01/2011 22:30

Popcorn bubbles at 16 weeks, then gradually got stronger. Now they are frequent and powerful, and am currently 25 weeksSmile

kf1979 · 17/01/2011 01:43

I'm 19 weeks with first baby and nothing yet...can't wait to feel something soon!

littlemissw · 17/01/2011 11:06

Most people don't start feeling their babies until around 18-20 weeks +. It tends to be earlier with subsequent pregnancies too as you know what it feels like.

I've been quite lucky & have felt all 3 of mine really early on. (16s, 11/12w & 8/9w) Best feeling in the world & the thing I miss most when I'm not pregnant. ;)

SerenaJoy · 17/01/2011 11:17

I'm 18 weeks pg with first baby and last night I was sure I could feel something. Like BPrincess' friend said - like a little fart building up inside.

I got all excited and made DH come over and put his hand on my tummy.

Then I farted.

Smiler80 · 17/01/2011 11:25

Lol SerenaJoy

I'm 15 weeks and a bit and keep feeling little twitches and pops. Not sure it's the baby but I'm starting to get quite convinced.

However it's always at the same side, actually in quite a similar place. Is that normal? I would think the baby would still move around a bit when it's this small. Perhaps it really is just a muscle twitch... Confused

bumparoo · 17/01/2011 17:33

I could tell it was there and could feel it moving around 17 weeks or so but didn't feel any of the fluttering/ popping sensations until 20 weeks.

MrsMogwai · 17/01/2011 18:08

I was 19 weeks when I first felt them. It's my first pregnancy. I've heard that some women feel them earlier with the second though.

pozzled · 17/01/2011 18:15

About 17 weeks with first pg. Now on DC2 and I felt the first movements at around 15 weeks. 18 weeks now and feeling a lot of movement.

smiler80 Most of the first movements this pg were in the same place, at one side. So it could well be the baby you're feeling.
