swinging or gliding crib?

I really want one of the above as moses baskets are so small and a cot would swamp our room. DD1 loved a rocking-type motion (we had a rocking basket stand with carrycot on top). As this is our second we feel we won't need to buy much but both like the look of these, but which is the best style to go for?

I have a glider (from Mamas and Papas) but I found the gliding motion quite jerky, so only really used it set still. Think the theory is that gliders are meant to be safer than rockers (less chance of baby being rocked too vigorously and sliding about, especially relevant if you have a toddler), but if I was buying one now I'd still go for a swinging crib.

I had a gliding crib, only ever used it locked into a stationary position as none of my dc liked the motion of it. However, it did give them far more space than a moses basket which was great.
