Early scan, gestational sac and yolk sac but no fetus yet

This is my fifth pregnancy, I have one dc.

I'm 7+5 based on my lmp, although I chart and know that I ovulated around cd 18 which would make me 7+1, I think.

Because I have a history of miscarriage I had an early scan today. They saw a gestational sac and a yolk sac but no fetus yet. They are going to rescan me in 2 weeks. They've told me to try and relax and that everything is in line with a very early pregnancy. But although I know it's early, I'm in a complete state. I'm pretty sure with ds I had a scan at around 7+6 and we saw a heartbeat.

I know no-one can tell me how my pregnancy is going to go but I'd be interested to hear from anyone who had a similar experience and to know how it turned out - good or bad.

No idea but i think it may have been an ovulation bleed either way DTD as much as possible and testing regular I can only hope BFN today again xx

i thought i was 9 weeks and 5 days when i ahd to go for an emergency scan cause of brown spotting, they found a sack and yolk in the correct place but couldnt find a foetus but then did an intenal scan and found a foetus of CRL:2.3mm they said this was tiny and i either got dates really wrong or i have lost the baby very early on because of its size but my body wont reject it! got to go for re-scan next thurs, since then my bleeding has got slightly worse, its my 1st pregnancy im just really scared.
my 1st date of last period was 25th dec.

I wonder if anyone has had anything simular but i had some spotting yesterday and today i have been to the EPU for a scan and it came up inconclusive, there was a small pregnancy sac but no signs of anything else. i have had a blood test today and need another on wednesday to check that my hormone level highers or lowers.
i am so worried as it is my first pregnancy, so just need reassurance.
My last period started on the 7th Feb 2013, so im very early on.

Hi Laura, I had bright red spotting as well as sharp abdominal pain when i was 8/9 weeks pregnant. They could not see much on the first scan, however on the second scan, a week later, we saw a little heartbeat beating away. My daughter is now 2 in 2 weeks. (although she was born at 29+3 weeks gestation due to complications.
I am pregnant again, on early scan they could only see a gestational sac, no yolk sac or fetal pole (6 weeks+2). They did blood tests to check hcg and repeated it 48 hours later and my levels had doubled. I have a scan again on wednesday to check for a heartbeat.

I am sure you will be fine. I kno wthe bleeding can be quite scary as I have had 3 miscarriages. How did your scan go?

You lot scared me half to death!!

Last September on our first holiday in Alcudia we found out i was pregnant (Bang goes the all inclusive alcohol hehe) After getting home and having the pregnancy confirmed i started spotting. We checked online and seemed it was normal and it was very light. A few days later i started getting pains and being a sunday i rang around all over and finally got a call back from NHS Direct (I'll keep Shh on my thoughts about the service there....) We went to the walk in centre and got an appointment for the following tuesday at the EPC for an early scan. My sister was there the same time and day as us having a miscarriage confirmed :-(. We went in not expecting to be told i was being rushed into hospital for emergency surgery. I was kept in top of the list 'apparently'. 10pm came and they came to see me, said there was an emergency on the maternity ward and as i had no pain i asked why they were there. We were loosing our baby without someone else loosing theres and possibly their own life. The following morning i had the op. My pregnancy was 8wks+4 and had been a Corneal Ectopic. Needless to say we were both devastated. It took 5weeks for my bloods to be normal. 2 little cousins are now together in a better place.

So a few weeks ago i had recognisable cramps... And a positive pregnancy test!! YEY!! got booked in for an early scan and was told it was too early to see, come back in 10 days (When i googled and found this post). So yesterday we went back and this time tears of joy!, A little heart beat and a perfect pregnancy :-)

Keep positive and good tings will happen!, Anyone going through the same as me can feel free to ask me anything they like (Im not easily offended)

Much love and fingers crossed for all you women (and men) who have had to go through the heart breaking time that we did.

This post is not meant to 'rub it in' to those of you who have suffered a loss in the early stages iv been there!

I just read lots of outcomes which were not as anyone would ever wish on anyone and i think it's important to share our success storys too.

Oh and we were told to wait at least a year to try again but the pill does not seem to work ...

Hey. Anyone out there. In pieces. Just been for a scan I should be 11+1 but had a bleed yesterday with a clot which stopped but has now started again. No pain or anything. Scanned normally and internally. No baby Sad. But they have found a sack and yolk so got to go back next week as non the wiser. Anyone been through similar?

I’m supposed to be 7+3 and went for a scan today and there was just a sac nothing else they say it could be a miscarry and I’m worried and have to go back in 2 weeks as anyone been in this boat before ? X

Hi I am pregnant with my 6th child, by my dates i should be 8wks 5dys but i was told im 2 weeks behind at 6wks 5dys. I had a rescan yesterday and a gestational sac and yolk sac was seen but no embryo yet and was told to come back in 2 weeks time as it could be a possible delayed miscarriage or simply just early, this is the first time this has happened to me and im confused. The midwife said this does happen and some women's bodies does need more time, but it was a good sign as im not bleeding or have any cramping. I have 5 children and my first 2 were premies at 28wks 6days and 35wks 5dys, one of my children was a twin but his brother was stillborn and after that i also miscarried with twins, after my last son back in 2015 was born i thought that was it but i fell pregnant last year and had a late miscarriage at 18wks 6dys and my son was born sleeping at 19wks 20/7/18. Im a bag of nerves right now and dont know what to do and was wondering if anyone has been through similar problems like i have with success stories.

Sorry to hear about your scan have you had another one yet?
I have a little boy but have had 6 miscarriages I am currently pregnant went to hospital Friday for scan due to not seeing baby 2 weeks ago however today they still see no baby only gestional sac and yok sac they confirmed I being miscarrying again I go to hospital today for bloods and tomorrow morning for surgery they want to remove what’s there and send for testing I hope you get your happy ending.

So Simarlh i was believed to be 6 weeks pregnant went for an early scan and there was no baby just the sack and yolk , they said they either believe I’m early or that there’s something wrong either way I have to go back in two weeks, has anybody got any advice ? Or if you have experienced this what was the outcome as I’m scared. And my anxiety is bad

I thought I was 6 weeks and was send for an early scan due to mc.
You could see the sac and the yolk but no baby. The lady doing ultrasound was like this is looking like a mc. But the nurse said after it as I was upset this could be because I am still so early on. I am back in 2 weeks.
I have seen some positive posts and some not so positive. Family are telling me not to worry but its hard.

Hi guys this is my first post on here so I apologise if I don’t make sense or start to ramble.
Today was my first scan after a BFP after ivf/ICSI treatment. I did another test before I left this morning and it was very clearly +.
Once we got to the clinic and got called in for our scan the worst answer came back that there is a gestational sac and yoke but no baby and I’m currently 7+2. The sac and yoke are measuring approx 5-6 weeks so small. I now have to go for another scan in 2 weeks time and hope that baby has made an appearance. I feel absolutely broken and deflated and am just looking for any advice xx
