Early scan, gestational sac and yolk sac but no fetus yet

This is my fifth pregnancy, I have one dc.

I'm 7+5 based on my lmp, although I chart and know that I ovulated around cd 18 which would make me 7+1, I think.

Because I have a history of miscarriage I had an early scan today. They saw a gestational sac and a yolk sac but no fetus yet. They are going to rescan me in 2 weeks. They've told me to try and relax and that everything is in line with a very early pregnancy. But although I know it's early, I'm in a complete state. I'm pretty sure with ds I had a scan at around 7+6 and we saw a heartbeat.

I know no-one can tell me how my pregnancy is going to go but I'd be interested to hear from anyone who had a similar experience and to know how it turned out - good or bad.

oops, don't no what that number is about, sorry :(

olismum23 · 10/02/2011 13:27

thanks girls i hope it will get easier xx

belgina · 10/02/2011 14:36

Oh no. I was just at the end of a reasonably long post and my phone died and i lost the post.

olismum sending you lots of hugs. Glad your DH is home to look after you.

artifarti i had accupuncture for SPD in my last pregnancy and it really did the trick. I'm now a firm believer in it. I hope you'll get a session soon.

Talking about odd dreams. I had an odd semi predictive dream. Semi, cos yesterday i had some strong period type pain and my spotting got a bit heavier. I dreamt i bled all over the cream bedroom carpet and that I tried to clean it up and hide it, but couldn't because I kept getting disturbed. Then i woke this morning, passed a clot and now have bleeding, like a period, no heavier.
I'm ok with it though, as I've accepted a litte while ago that things were heading in the wrong direction. As well as that, I never felt pregnant, unlike with the pregnancies is ds and the dds.

jelly coconut how are you?

jellytart · 10/02/2011 15:51

Ah belgina, sorry to hear that :( Are you managing to put your feet up? Am positively encouraged by everybody's experiences of acupuncture. Definitely going to look into it .

olismum23 · 10/02/2011 16:23

hope your ok belgina thinking of you, I hope we have more positive experiences in the future.
(((BIG HUGS)))

jellytart · 10/02/2011 17:23

I second that olismum :)

artifarti · 10/02/2011 18:21

I third it. We are all due some good luck and good news in the next few months.

belgina - are you okay? I know you've had signs for a while but it must still be awful for you.

First meeting with acupuncturist next Tuesday. Smile Anything that helps me to stop stressing and weeping over the slightest thing has got to be a good thing. Will report back (although Tuesday is a needle-free chat, I think).

How is everyone else doing?

belgina · 10/02/2011 19:42

Thank you everyone. I'm ok. I'm actually relieved that the state of limbo is now over and I know where i stand. I have had some extra chocolate and a lazy frozen pizza dinner. But I'll have to be good again soon, as I've done a tad too much comfort eating and according to certain housemembers I do look pg Blush and I must say, they are right.

I also hope to hear some good news from this lovely little group of MNers soon. :).

arti. Accupuncturists, like many practitioners of alternative medicine are holistic practitioners and a good chat about what is going on in your life and what your symptoms are helps them devising a plan of care for you. I hope it'll work for you :)

I think the stress of the last 3-4 weeks hasnt done my body any good either: I've got rock hard shoulders, a sore lower back, painful SI joint and achy jaws from grinding my teeth. I hope knowing that this is the definite end might help me relax a little.

All the best to everyone :)

Coconutfeet · 11/02/2011 08:24

So sorry to hear your news Olismum. It?s so hard, especially if you have already seen a heartbeat. How are you today?

Belgina ? How are you? It sounds like you?ve reached the acceptance stage which, although it?s horrible, must be a bit of a relief from all the not knowing. I hope the physical bit is over for you very soon.

I know what you mean about looking pregnant. I?ve done so much comfort eating recently a few of my clothes are starting to feel very tight. I really need to step up the healthy eating and exercise now.

Artifarti ? Enjoy the acupuncture. I found just having the opportunity to talk about things very helpful.

Hairy ? Have you got a follow-up scan soon?

Congratulations Mrs CLH! Wonderful news.

I?m exhausted. I?ve been out for two nights on the trot and am desperate for some sleep! It was good to get out with friends and have a change of scene but ds has been sleeping really badly for the last few nights too so I?m struggling today. Got inlaws coming for the weekend, and I?ve been really lax about housework recently so I feel a major clean-up operation is in order.

Coconutfeet - have you done another pg test to check if hormones have dropped? Still testing positive here, grrrr...

Coconutfeet · 11/02/2011 20:39

Did one this morning and was gutted to get a really strong positive really quickly. Was yours still pretty strong?

OP posts:
artifarti · 11/02/2011 21:33

Strong enough, yes and quick. There was certainly no doubting it at all. Sad Go away hormones!

jellytart · 12/02/2011 19:20

Hey everybody, just a quick hello. I hope everyone is doing okay?! x

artifarti · 12/02/2011 20:12

Hello jellytart, I'm okay thanks, one of the 'good' days today! How are you? Is your appointment Tuesday?

jellytart · 12/02/2011 20:34

Hello arti :) ,am glad that you're having a "good one"! I'm not too bad, have been madly busy the last couple of days so,haven't had time to dwell on things. Yep,appointment's on Tuesday morning. Will let you know how I get on. Good luck with the acupuncture x

belgina · 13/02/2011 10:43

Hi everyone. Just having a peek to see how everyone is doing. And it looks like everyone is well.

I'm ok, still bleeding like a light period. Will POAS once it stops. 5 more days and back to work for me. I hope the'll be gentle :)

jellytart · 13/02/2011 11:38

Morning belgina, good to see you :) I hope you and your family are well. Am sure your colleagues will be kind to you (do they know what's happened?),hope it goes okay. Am having a lazy Sunday and have some choccy in the fridge. Naughty I know, but sometimes you've just got to have it,and the diet can always start again tomorrow!

olismum23 · 13/02/2011 13:35

Hows everyone today i am supposed to be doing sunday lunch at my folks but i just dont feel up to it my bleeding has s lowed right down after being very heavy took a pregnancy test still a very faint line booo! i never had a strong one all the way through think the highest my hcg got was the 800 will just have to wait... all i want to do ttc again and i feel so guilty about that :(

artifarti · 13/02/2011 14:13

Hello all

belgina - glad you are okay. I found that everyone at work was lovely (that knew). I found the 'going back to normality' i.e. not pregnant anymore harder at first. Hope all goes well with you. Smile

jellytart - I am being ridiculously healthy at the moment - hardly any caffeine or alcohol, huge amounts of fruit and veg - but chocolate is my absolute weakness! Can't stop eating it.

olismum - hope you have had a relaxing day. Don't feel guilty about ttc again. You would have been a wonderful mum if you had had this baby and you will be a wonderful mum to the baby/ies that will come. It is very common to want to ttc again quickly - I know that I can't wait either. I think it is a way of moving on, recovering, giving yourself hope for the future. Go easy on yourself. x

We all went swimming this morning then out for a curry lunch. DS was a picture - stuffing korma and rice down his face as fast as he could! Was meant to be my booking appointment today Sad so glad that we're having a nice one.

jellytart · 13/02/2011 17:16

arti well done on the healthy eating/cutting down on alcohol! At times like these,I guess we are all vulnerable and as mentioned in past posts,I've been comfort eating too! (for 6 months I might add Blush
olismum I agree with what artifarti said. I've found that ttc again has been my way of coping (sounds wierd I know).coconut how has your weekend been with the in laws? Here's hoping you haven't tired yourself out running around after everybody x

olismum23 · 13/02/2011 20:48

well i got a -pg test tonight and my bleeding seems to have stopped i am just going to try and relax and have lots of sexGrin

arti very well done on healthy eating i have ate so much chocolate drank way to much wine Blush may have to think about changing my choices!

artifarti · 14/02/2011 13:26

Well, I am still getting a postitive test result but it is now very very faint (so you have to squint and wave it about to see it!) Hopefully this means that in a couple of days I will be officially not pregnant (like I need a test to tell me that Sad)

Off to see acupunturist tomorrow. Can't wait as work in particular is making me horribly anxious (new boss is starting in a couple of weeks. I met with him last week which was fine but he wants to meet me again tomorrow for a 'follow up chat'. He hasn't even started yet! You start to get so paranoid, especially with all that has happened recently.)

How is everyone today? It is lovely and sunny today and DP remembered it was Valentine's Day for once and so I have a nice big bunch of flowers. Smile

jellytart · 14/02/2011 13:35

Hey arti, aww that's so nice of your DP :) I hope you have much success with your acupuncturist. There's nothing worse than dreading going to work. If your new boss isn't understanding, then he shouldn't be in charge! (IMO) I'm currently giving my kitchen a massive clean,it's stopped me from thinking about food anyway! x

olismum23 · 14/02/2011 13:44

spoke too soon still having bloody mucus today (sorry if tmi) but me and DH DTD last night now worried i shouldn't have Hmm

artifarti · 14/02/2011 13:53

olismum - I'm no expert on these things but would imagine that your cervix is still quite tender from the mc, so could bleed quite easily. As long as you have no signs of infection, I would just keep an eye on it and not worry too much. (disclaimer: I'm not a doctor!) My bleeding was a bit stop-start for the second week so it could just be like that.
