TMI warning: 39+4, sex last night, very lightly pink-tinged dampness this morning, advice pls?

Hi,

Title says it all really, pregnancy has been fine throughout touch wood, I'm not desperate to get the baby out or anything, had sex last night because I thought it might be a while before we could again, not in an attempt to start labour.

Felt some dampness a couple of hours but wasn't much of it, was clear, presumed it was the, er, natural by products of DTD... But now this morning the dampness is still coming and it's now very very lightly pink-tinged - 1st child so been worriedly reading antenatal class notes but I don't not sure what it can be or whether to call the hospital. Baby moving normally.

Any input very welcome...

might possibly be the waters or tmi - if you were a little rough maybe from that/ tbh I think if you're worried ring your MW.

sounds like your waters have gone! Same thing happened to me at 38+1 dtd that night, waters broke at 8.30am she was born at 2.50pm that day! xx

I have no idea what sort of quantity of liquid to expect with waters going, this is very, very little, barely enough for a panty liner - so surely not waters??

it doesn't always need to gush, sometimes it can dribble as it were - have you had anything jelly like (the show)

Sometimes there is a dribble, you can have a gush still later I did. Very exciting! Call your mw if you are worried.

Davidtennantsmistrss, no I haven't had a show - do you always have a show or can you go straight to waters breaking or labour without?

God I've done all the classes but suddenly feel very ignorant and confused

My friend had this and they said it was a show and the midwife wasn't worried at all. She said it was normal. Good luck

Sounds like your waters trickling to me - it's actually more unusual for them to go in a Soap Opera dramatic gush!

Some people don't have a show until they are well into established labour.

Call your MW's and see what they suggest. Oh, and good luck

Exactly the same happened to me though 17 years ago! I dithered all day then dh made me ring the hospital who gave me a right rollicking said my waters were leaking and could go anytime!

I went in on their instructions and I was in labour!

I would def ring midwife now

I have a funeral to go to this morning and not had any new dampness in last hour or so , so will see how the land lies at lunchtime, will definitely call the MW then if it's reoccurring
