Rib pain - any tips for moving the baby away from my ribs?!

I am in agony today - I have had this before and the midwife was fairly sure that the baby had its bum or a foot wedged under my ribs. It is a constant ache at the front and back of my bottom rib, only on the right hand side. It is so bad that I almost feel winded. Am at work and can't sit still or type, but I am SO busy!

Any tips? I am trying to keep a hand wedged between my ribs and my uterus, which does ease the pain, as does holding my right arm above my head, but typing one handed isn't that conducive to getting stuff done!! Am 30 weeks by the way.

Breathe a lot. Yogic inversions could help, but I would not advise doing them unless you have been doing yoga all along and are comfortable with inversions. Otherwise, you can do cat and cow pose, which is less affective, but can still relieve some pain. Hope you feel better.

A hot water bottle there helped me, if you can do that at work, as did keeping my arm up, and rubbing my ribs in circular motions (not at same time!).
And it will go - I got my ribcage back at about 35 weeks - that prob seems a lifetime away now, but it'll come. 37 weeks now, and it's my pelvis that has issues!!!

Probably just an awkward baby, but keep an eye on it - rib pain can be a sign of pre-eclampsia. Had your BP checked lately?
