Does the fist one do all of the main bodily damage, or is it worse each time?

ie stretch marks, saggy tum, bum and boobies. I have 1 ds and was wondering if I have another will the sagginess double or is the main damage done with the first?

oh god - I'm dreading the answer to this thread! Currently being pregnant with my 2nd.....

perhaps I should just avoid this thread

LadyCodofCodford · 05/10/2005 10:56

worse
asn weight loss is harder

milward · 05/10/2005 10:58

got more stretch marks each time - labour got faster as well

JoolsToo · 05/10/2005 10:58

in my case it was the first one - although I did get a labial varicosity with No 3 (tmi) and I suppose internally it gets a bit worn but I don't notice those bits.

sagginess has come with age but again having small boobs they don't really sag

KingPuff · 05/10/2005 10:58

Effects of ds2 were worse, but I was much too overweight then anyway, so I think that was half the problem.

Lizzylou · 05/10/2005 10:58

B*llocks...was hoping Ds had done the worse...

JoolsToo · 05/10/2005 10:59

I didn't find it harder to lose weight either - running around after two toddlers and a baby made sure of that!

charliebat · 05/10/2005 10:59

I got about 7 stretchmarks...thick ones however with dd1 and with dd2 I got 1 sore painful red one and even though the 2nd bump was way smaller it was really tight and hurt.
Over eating has wrecked my bod, not having kiddies.

LadyFioOfTipton · 05/10/2005 10:59

no all mine was done with the first, i was alot smaller with the second

suppose it depends how biug they are

Lonelywitch · 05/10/2005 10:59

The stretch marks etc came with the first child and didn't get much worse with each subsequent child.

The only thing I know my fourth child did for me which the others did not is give my SPD whihc I still suffer from a bit although he is now 2.7.

LadyCodofCodford · 05/10/2005 11:00

no stretchmarks though ( smug icon0

northerner · 05/10/2005 11:00

So that woman in the papers with 15 kids must be in a right old state......

Worse, I also have lingering back pain from DS2, chiropractor says it's a twisted pelvis and athritis (caused by the pelvis being out of place).

mancmum · 05/10/2005 11:00

totally the same damage done with both - in my case none... very lucky (or had crap figure to start with and so not very hight standards!!) Only issue is weight loss is a bit slower with second but am sure that is more to do with me being 106 than having 2 kids..

moonshine · 05/10/2005 11:01

I was quite smug after no1 as damage was quite limited (apart from becoming obese but that was my fault for being a greedy heifer) but no 2 'smashed up' my nether regions to smithereens. Still, at least I am no longer obese.

MrsSpoon · 05/10/2005 11:01

I got extensions on my existing stretch marks with DS2.

LadyCodofCodford · 05/10/2005 11:03

no planning regs?

lovecloud · 05/10/2005 11:04

northener -

i have three friends who have 2 children and they all look great and lost their weight faster the second time.

i think it depends on your body starting out, if your fall pregnant with your first and you are alreay overweight and unfit then you can only expect to come out worse at the other end. but you then can correct it all by healthy eating and exercise and the second time will be a faster and better recovery.

i was slim and fit when falling pregnant with dd1, i breastfed for 8 months so did not diet and and never did, just ate healthy, eventually when she was 14mths I was back to pre pregnancy shape.

this time I am not as fit as I was before so I guess I will just make sure I got to all my antenatal yoga classes to tone my body so it can cope with the stretching, you wont get a saggy bum if you work it, do bum clenches

all my friends look great and you would not know they have two children. of course they may not love their bodies naked but you have to pay some kind of price for children.

dont let it worry you too much. if you were overweight before you fell pregnant then try not worry now, enjoy your pregnancy and baby when born, give yourself a while to adjust and get some energy back then get your ass in shape by exercising and eating healthy and you will look great in no time.

people who moan saying their kids made them fat, that is because they drive them to and from school, eat their snacks, remains of their dinner and do no exercise - once you get in the swing of healthy eating and exercise it becomes easy.

good luck
x

LadyFioOfTipton · 05/10/2005 11:09

lovecloud · 05/10/2005 11:09

my mum always blames me for making her fat (jokingly) she was pregnant 6 times and, I was the third and I weighed in at almost 11 pounds. She put four stone on and never lost it...

lovecloud · 05/10/2005 11:12

the funny thing is the baby after me weighed 5 pounds and it was a more painful birth??? the baby after that weighed 8 pounds.

you really cant predict what size you will have and how big you will get.

LadyFioOfTipton · 05/10/2005 11:13

is she diabetic? 11lbs is very heavy for a newborn your poor mother!
