Blood Clot in Pregnancy

Hi,I have just found out that Im pregnant with my second baby. I`m very excited and due in September.

After the birth of my daughter last year I was diagnosed with a blood clot in one of the blood vessels of my brain (cerebral venous thrombosis)have been on warfarin for 6 months and have been put on clexane for this pregnancy. Although I have been told that a pregnancy is safe Im still absolutely petrified of getting another clot. Just wondering if theres anyone else out there who has had a similar experience and gone on to have a successful pregnancy??

I had blood clots on my lungs in a previous pregnancy and was on clexane then and am on it now. (pregnant) I was told in my last pregnancy that whilst on a theraputic dose of clexane and pregnanct I was no more likely to get a clot than any 'normal' person with no risk factors.

I know I haven't had the same experience as you, but hopefully that can reassure you a little.

Hi, I'm 23 weeks and I'm on clexane too. I thought being on those injections would thin your blood so the risk of blood clots were eliminated.

Midori did you develop the blood clots in your previous pregnancy before you were on clexane or while you were on clexane?

A little worried now :(

I'm also on clexane and now 27 weeks pg in order to thin my blood. The only side affect to watch out for is that it can cause bleeding during pg which can be a little scary
