37+5 and period cramps

Don't get me wrong I don't think this is labour, but I having mild (but sore) period cramps at the bottom of my bump every few minutes. They are not lasting very long and I can't feel my bump going hard.

Having visited a few websites they don't sound like BH contractions, but apparently something called "warm-up labour" and could go on for weeks (urgh). This is DC2 and I didn't get any signs at all with dd, just woke up and went into regular contractions every 15 mins which increased in frequency throughout the day.

Not sure what I hope to gain from this post, but just wanted to know if anyone had experienced this before? It happened the other night, but only had about 4 cramps then it eased off.

I've started to get this (37+1) and last night woke up gasping because had such an intense BH it woke me up (for about 30 seconds and just the one). I guess it's just things limbering up. But no idea how long the limbering up will go on for! I had some period pain like cramps earlier in my pregnancy at 28 weeks and ended up at the daycare unit - everything was fine just things stretching out I think - but now the cramps seem more constant and have been going on for the past 48 hours, and sometimes when I walk I get some really sharp cervical twinges that I think is baby's head bouncing around in there! (was starting to engage when I had my m/w appt yesterday so this might explain things)

Luckily all the things that seem to help with period pains still seem to work with this - hot water bottles, baths, resting and rubbing my bump. And paracetamol if things get really bad. It's just a bit of a pain and annoying since one of the big advantages of being pg is supposed to be no periods - not such a great advantage if you still get the pain!

Thanks, it's nice to know I'm not the only one! :)

I'll just keep an eye on things and see if it gets any worse.
