Hi
In February at 24 wks pg we would like to travel to a Utah ski resort. Before you shout me down for being reckless, I have no intention of skiing, it is for a conference. However I would like to get into the mountains, do some very gentle valley hiking, go for a gondola ride to an on-mountain restaurant etc.
The base is 6900 ft and peak is 8500ft so plenty high enough at both levels to get altitude symptoms even when not pg.
My question is about whether the reduced O2 level would have an effect on the bub. Whilst I may huff and puff, does the bub suffer reduced O2 as well or does he continue to get his normal levels at my expense?
As I am slightly anaemic with reduced MCV size - does that make a difference?
I know there will be plenty of opinions on here but I am really after facts. My own GP is a bit useless and gave a very vague 'dont know so dont try it'. Is anyone aware of any proper studies on the subject?
Thanks
