I'm 39 and had a was unsure what to do about screening, didn't even have blood tests for the other two, but this time had Neuchal scan privately, which has resulted I think in a less anxious pregnacy than it might have been, I aslo worry so much that previous pregnancies etc ... were quite straightforward, that this might not be. I also worry about school runs, etc.. and just having enough time for older children. DS seems to be a bit worried, and keeps asking lots of questions which I'm trying to reassure him about. I think they do have a strong feeling our lives are going to change significantly !

hi breezy and linda40, i'm the same didn't even consider bloods last 2 times either. I think we'll go for a private nuchal scan as i just don't want an amnio....fingers crossed that i progress that far.
Aw bless your little one breezy how old are your other 2?

traybake · 09/02/2011 14:30

HI Breezy ,I know how you feel.I am 38 and 6 weeks pregnant.I have a 9 year old ds and a 5 year old dd .I'm not sure how I am going to do it all. Also self employed so there isn't much chance of having much time off.I am trying to chill out a bit and hope that it all works out .

sunface · 09/02/2011 15:19

hi traybake, i'm 37 and 6 weeks too! My DCs will be 4 and 8 when this one arrives (all going well). we were really worried about the age gap, but i know other families with big age gaps and they all muddle along quite the thing. really stressing about the £ side of things though..... worry worry worry, roll on 12weeks!

growing3rdbump · 09/02/2011 17:01

Sunface - I've got similar age gap between mine. DS will turn 4 five days before due dats (eek!) and DD is 7.5. DS will be joining DD at school in Sept, so although I'm anticipating a difficult summer, at least by Sept I should have the days pretty free with baby!

Breezey · 09/02/2011 17:28

DS is six, (approaching 7) and DD 5.5 I'm due next week, so at least they are both full time in school. Biggest uncertainty at the moment is what to do with them when baby arrives, planning home delivery, and expect to have to go into hospital afterwards for repair, (without being too pessimistic) I've family nearby they can go to, but want them to meet baby at home, asap, so just not sure what solution is. Guess we'll have to see when he, she arrives

sunface · 10/02/2011 10:33

oh that's good to hear of other age gaps, we've been really worried about the difference between our eldest and this one.... silly at this early stage to be worrying about that i guess!

inbetweener · 10/02/2011 11:07

Hello all,
I am 36 and 17 weeks pg with number 3. I have 2DD aged 6 and 8 so my age gap will also be quite large !

I have found this pg VERY hard going and have also had lots of negative comments Sad.
I have started playing 3rd baby bingo, I have been keeping a tally chart everytime I hear " oh you must be mad " or " omg your starting again, you will regret it " or " was it an accident ? " or " how will you cope ????!!!!!"
Agghhh its SO bloody rude.
It wasnt planned no, but thats MY business.
Sorry for the rant lol

As for the bedroom situation, well we currently live in a 2 bedroom house. The girls share a room, its lovely and big and they have lots of room to play. I COULD squeeze another one in there easily but to be honest I wouldnt like too, so it looks like we are going to move.
Luckily we are privately renting at the moment so we have the option to leave when our contract runs out.....in July which is when I am due !!

I am currently working on DH to do it before, but he would rather we wait till the following year, but that means a year with the baby either in with us or squeezed in with the girls !

Anyway, thats me Grin

sunface · 10/02/2011 11:25

hi inbetweener and congrats!! i've not told anyone yet as it's so early on, but i'm fully expecting very similar comments from people. "oh how will you cope" "you'll be hoping for a boy this time then" etc etc people are just so tactless when it comes to pregnancy i think.

Hope you are keeping well?

inbetweener · 10/02/2011 12:16

I am ok now, although suffered terribly with nausea for the first 14 weeks !!!

Oh how could I have forgotten that quesition lol !! EVERYONE has asked me " I bet you want a boy, are you hoping for a boy etc "

No, at 36 I am just hoping its healthy and happy and I deliver in ten minutes while eating chocolate and reading a magazine actuallt !!

Linda40 · 12/02/2011 00:17

Hi everyone, had a busy week so just catching up.

6 weeks today, got a scan next Friday, cant wait.

Went circuit training tonight, but running was out of the question even with two sports bras on, the boobs are just too sore!

Im not sick or tired, though I cant stop eating!! Put on 4lb this week! Ill soon be putting the 3 stone back on that I was so happy about losing, lol

inbetweener Im getting asked the same about wanting a boy as i have 2 DDs, aged 6 and 10, but ill be happy if i can just carry this one safely, because at 40 going on 41 this may be my last chance!
