I'm 26wks with number 3, have 2 boys (4 & 2), not finding out with this one, didn't with the others either.

I have found this time round:

  • way more tired
  • bump vvv early & seems so much bigger
  • more achy generally
  • SPD, didn't have with DS1, did with DS2, sure it's earlier this time, ouch.
  • worrying what on earth are we doing, things calm with the 2 we've got, why mess with it? etc.

Also, small gap of 20months between the boys, thought a 3 year gap would be easier but DS2 is developmentally delayed and has no clue what babies are all about. and he's very much a mummy's boy so harder i think than second time round.

Eglu · 19/01/2011 20:23

I'm sending DH for the snip after this one too. I think he is okay with that too.

captainbarnacle · 19/01/2011 20:54

Glad I've found this thread!

I have 2 DS aged 4 and 2 and am 11weeks pg. I live on my own in a 2bed house with the boys as OH lives and works 3000 miles away. I am flipping from one moment thinking I AM SUPERMUM I CAN DO IT to going flippityflippity heck! Anyone else live on their own? We only see OH for 5 weeks or so a year. Getting pg was a shocker!

This time I feel sick if I eat anything with sugar in it - it's bizarre and awful! So I just ate some scones with jam, then a wispa, then a creme egg all after each other because I love them and I reckoned if am going to feel sick, I may as well have a lot of joy beforehand.

My stomach split during pg with DS2 (maybe DS1 but noone noticed) and it took 3 months of physio and a couple of years of pilates to sort it back to 'only' an inch gap... now it's split again already :( Gap is a good 2 inches and when I lie on my back is a huge canyon. I can't find anyone else with this problem on here?

del1 · 19/01/2011 20:55

Evening ladies, nice to find a thread on here, that covers all my worries and fears.
I have a 2 yr old boy and a 7 mnth old girl.
We decided that dh as going to get the snip. I gave away all the baby clothes, and maternity clothes at christmas.
I found out a few weeks ago I was pregnant, so should be about 7 weeks now. And we will have 3 under 3's.Shock
At first, dh went off his head. saying we cant keep it, as we would be commiting 'financial suicide'!!
I went to the hospital for an appointment last week, to have an abortion, but couldnt go through with it, so came home.
Dh didnt speak to me for 4 days!!!
I think ive managed to talk dh around now though?
I used the 'youd never regret haing a baby, but might regret not having one'.
I told my mum today, as she kindly looks after all the grandchildren, so me and my sister can work. It would have a big impact on her, so was expecting the 'you stupid girl' telling off ( i am 34)
But she said she would be fine with another one, and actually gave me more positives for having the baby.
Im embarrased that I was scared to tell my mum Blush

Mama5isalive · 19/01/2011 21:57

thehiddenpaw · 24/01/2011 12:04

quick update as love this thread to share worries and delight! Am nearly 16 weeks now. The nausea and exhaustion started to go a week ago and also got over my infection too. Think might be well enough to get swine flu vaccine now. Had a lovely week in Lanzarote to celebrate my 40th with my husband and 2 boys. Starting to think about telling people and feeling less anxious and more confident that baby will be around to stay. Even been reading MPV reviews. Hope to start telling people this week, meeting one of my brothers on Wed so plan to tell him when we see each other (my family scattered around the world). Not thought hard about sleeping arrangemenrs. Kind of thought new baby would share with youngest for a while as he is in next door bedroom and would worry about sex issues (if a girl) when they are a little older. Also decided I do want to know sex. I didn't with other pregnancies

CrawlingInMySkin · 24/01/2011 12:29

Hi I am 23 I have enjoyed reading all your posts and I am pg on DC3 (a happy surprise) I have no idea how far I am but I have a completly flat stomach, yet loads of sickness so that is confusing Confused.

I have been very scared on this one, I have a ds age 5 a dd age 18 months, I am scared to tell people, keep feeling scared that something will go wrong because I am being greedy.

Keep panicking and crying over how hard things will be, what have I done e.t.c but I always do this I will come around.

I wanted a home birth last time but left it too late, so may get to do that now. Even though I didn't care about sexes I am so inpatient and was always the child peeking at xmas presents, so I am hoping to not find out this time and see how that goes Grin

Dp will be booked in for a vasectomy after this one is born.

thehiddenpaw · 01/02/2011 16:48

I am 17 weeks now and starting to think about practicalities. Wondering if anyone has been investigating/researching on car seats and pros and cons of MPVs. My 4 door will not take 3 car seats and 2 adults. Other practicalities are room share. Do I put 2 older kids together are the youngest two together? What are you all thinking

growing3rdbump · 01/02/2011 17:59

I'm 25 wks now and getting tired... how will I cope in 10 wks time???!

DD is 7 yrs and DS is almost 4. DD has the largest room, so will eventually share with DC3 (also a girl from scan). I plan to keep DC3 in our room until 6/12months old depending on how well she's sleeping. DS has a tiny box room and is still in cotbed, so we've been researching shorter storage beds that will fit in well so we can have the cotbed back for baby!

I spent last week getting boxes of baby clothes out of the loft and sorting in to boxes labelled 0-3 and 3-6 months all ready for little one - feeling a bit more organised and ready now!!!

thelizard · 01/02/2011 21:05

Growing3rdbump, I keep seeing you on all the posts I am reading! Am also 25 weeks and weirdly feeling the best I have done yet! But have both my boys birthdays, mine and my husbands, my sisters 30th, my dads 60th and my brothers wedding (as well as hen and stag weekends) in march and April, so am making the most of the peaceful times this month, because it will be manic before I know it! Am loving the idea of 3 but keep thinking of little things like having two little ones to keep still whilst ds1 has swimming lesson, putting three in car seats etc. We have a touran and have tried three across the backseat which fits fine.

Can't believe you are all being organised... We are moving ds2 into ds1's bedroom at half term, both very excited, I think it might be a bit of a nightmare, will let you know... Will think about the baby's room after that, I hope!

Am feeling positive about 3 now, have just been to catholic playgroup with many mothers who have four and one pregnant with fifth, all under five! So three seems like a doddle!!! Hahahahaha...

jellyhead188 · 01/02/2011 22:14

:-) Growing3rdbump - I did that the other weekend too!!! Its cool isn't it - though did slightly freak me out as realised I am actually having another baby!!!! everything so tiny!!!

traybake · 02/02/2011 13:41

Hi Mattdamon loves me.
I am with you on this one ,just found out pregnant with third and again a big age gap and nearly 40.I am very scared and not sure where to go from here.I can't sleep and am constantly thinking ,What am I doing

mummysleepy · 02/02/2011 14:40

hi all
24 weeks today so feels like another little milestone along the way! We have been planning what to do with bedrooms and are going to get bunks but just have lower one out to start with and DS1 will sleep in that. DS2 will go in toddler bed that DS1 is currently in and that will free up cot for this little one!
My boys will share a room once the baby is out of our room and I think it will be ok. I shared a room with my sister growing up and we had a great time and are still really close.Grin

I am feeling pretty ok so far this pregnancy which is a bit of surprise but I think its because I am not as big as last time. I am hoping the pelvic girdle pain stays away as long as possible- I think I already had it by now last time.

When are you all thinking of finishing work? i had been planning to stop at 35 weeks but as I am feeling so ok am thinking I might go to 36 as it gives me an extra week at the other end

Linda40 · 02/02/2011 18:15

Hi. Im 4 weeks with baby 3. Already have two girls aged 11 and 6 so a boy would be nice this time :) Had a MC at 3 months last January so keeping it quiet at the moment. Fingers crossed X

sunface · 02/02/2011 21:35

Hi all, can i please join in?!Tentatively though as i must only be about 5wks prg with my 3rd. Have 2 DC already aged 8 and 3 so a bit of an age gap and i'm already worrying about bedrooms, only one bathroom (was laughing out loud at jimmijams bathroom scenario, - we'll be the same :o
it's so good to hear others have the same issues!!! i also work 4 days a week and am worried about money, childcare etc etc etc. Does anyone else work too or going to continue to work once they have had their 3rd?

growing3rdbump · 03/02/2011 14:08

Hi all!
thelizard - I obviously have far too much time on my hands to be messing about on here... sooner this baby arrives the better!!! Smile

Childcare is my biggest worry tbh. It'll cost around £600 a month for 2 days a week childcare for baby and before and after school care for DC1s and 2. Only working 2 days a week as a teacher means I don't a fat lot more than this so don't know what we'll decided to do about me returning to work Confused.

sunface · 03/02/2011 14:33

growing3rdbump i am the same, fretting already even though its very early days for me. our childcare at the moment is the same, and we have afterschool to consider too. my youngest will just be starting school when i finish mat leave (all going well) and i'd like to keep her in nursery for a couple of days a week when i'm on mat leave as she gets so much out of it. If i know all is ok with this little bean, i'm going to consider asking to work from home. Just makes so much difference in terms of logistics!

growing3rdbump · 03/02/2011 20:12

Trying to save up as much money as can by limiting spending... (but it's not going well!)
Both my kids will stop after school and wrap-around nursery care at Easter when I start leave as we just need to save as much as can. My eldest is in yr2 and youngest is at a school nursery every afternoon, which will continue until he begins full time school in sept, so at least I'll get a bit of a break... Working from home would be a brill option, but not really possible for me unless I do home tutoring or something.

naturalbaby · 03/02/2011 21:37

just found this thread again - am not very good at keeping up! i had ds3 last friday and all going well so far. it was my 3rd home birth and went pretty much exactly how i planned. took a while to get going then all went really fast in the last hour so he arrived before the midwife did. my biggest wish was to deliver/catch baby myself so i'm really pleased i got to do that even if it really freaked out dh!

need to go find the due late jan board and hopefully will be a bit better at keeping up with other mum's of 3 to be!

NotACompleterFinis · 04/02/2011 10:48

I'm 37. Expecting DC3 Sep/Oct. 1DS age 10 and 1DD age 11, plus 2 step DS age 15 and 13. Not all with us all the time - it's complicated.

We do have 4 bathrooms - phew. (Coincidence - we rent, not loaded!)
I would really like to not work after DC3 - looks like I may not have a choice!Possibly facing redundancy later this year -so could be interesting. Guess you just have to ride out whatever comes.

Trying not to get too excited about DC 3 yet - early days and nagging worries about PND rearing it's ugly head again :-( Tho DH is very supportive so I think it's less likely this time. And I am better prepared this time.

iloveblue · 04/02/2011 16:39

Hello all - do you mind if I join you.

I'm 33 - expecting DC3 early October (only about 5 weeks pregnant - so early days).

I have 2 DS's aged 6 and 4 - also lost a baby at 20 weeks gestation 3 months ago so very nervous about this pregnancy, as to be expected.

Congratulations naturalbaby on the birth of your son - sounds like it went really well. I havn't read back through the whole thread yet - how old are your other two boys?

I would actually love to have another boy despite everyone assuming we want a girl (although I would be equally happy with a girl).

Finance wise - we are currently in a 2 bedroomed house (although they are quite generous sized rooms) - the boys have bunks in their room. DH would like to move in about 18 months but I love our house and would be more inclined to stay here and convert attic.

Is anyone else in a similar position?

naturalbaby · 04/02/2011 20:16

my older 2 are 18 months and 2yrs 9months. am a sahm with them all day every day so really got my hands full!

we converted our attic last autumn. the older boys share a room and our old bedroom is their playroom and has the baby stuff in at the moment. think we might have all 3 sharing a room to sleep in when dc3 moves out our room. it's quite nice having one room for all their toys rather than squeezing them round the cot/bed. also keeps most of their stuff out the rest of the house. it's a pain being upstairs if they need us in the night though but we really didn't want to move house.
