hi, my dd has possibly got a urine infection. She called me yesterday and told me that when she pees she still has the urge to go and when she wiped there was blood on the tp. She also had abdominal pains the night before. I called the mw and she said that she should go to the daycare unit. The mw listened to the heartbeat and tested her urine which showed protein. The mw said it was probably an infection and not to worry. She did'nt take my dd's blood pressure. Anyway my dd text me today and she has a really sore head and is'nt feeling too good. I asked her if she wanted me to call nhs 24 but she said no. I'm a little worried. Any advice?

Back to MW or hospital. It might be an infection but it might be more serious. The headache could be dehydration or a sign of PE.

She needs her BP checked and possibly antibiotics for an infection.

Did MW take a sample to be cultured to check for a UTI?

Sounds like a possible infection, & I agree she does need checking more thoroughly by a Doctor etc,

in the mean time get her drinking cranberry juice, its been proven in tests to help with infections, I'm prone to them & I swear by the stuff :)

i have the exact same thing, blood and protein, and a constant urge to pee, but everytime my urine gets sent off to lab it comes back that theres no infection. but i would tell her to get back intouch with MW or doctors

Could be a urine infection but the headache would worry me and she needs to see someone asap.

It is most likely an infection and the constant weeing will be dehydrating her (hence the headache) BUT she must get this confirmed and anything else ruled out.

hi thanks for your replies, my dd is feeling better. She took some paracetamol and it helped but it did come back and she has had more paracetamol. She's not having so much bother with the constant peeing though. A urine sample has been sent off to be checked.
