Nipples drying out?!

Well, just that really. I've just had a shower and the past few times I have had a good look at my nipples and they really do look like they are drying out. I am 18+3 and just wondering if it's normal for this to happen now? Should I go get some nipple cream or would some normal moisturiser do the job?

i remember this happening. think it's because they're stretching. if you're planning to breastfeed you'll be wanting to get some lansinoh in anyway, but a smear of vaseline should do for the moment.

Ah right. Okay, time to start looking after the nips then, thank you.

I'm 22 weeks and have had the same problem for weeks, I remember it happening with DD1 as well. Makes them really itchy! I've started putting normal unscented moisturiser on e.g. E45. I don't want to use lansinoh until I'm breastfeeding and using breastpads as it ruins bras, once it stains them I found it impossible to get off.

btw you can get e45 on prescription for free from the gp

Now, they have been itchy too! I have a nice big pot of E45 sat right next to me! whops boobies out and dips nips in pot :o Wink
