so how much do you bleed from down below after having a c-section??

It looks like i'm going to be having a c-section this time, so I was just wondering what to expect afterwards. How much do you bleed after?

The bleeding is the same as a vaginal birth.

Pain/recovery varies greatly between women. My top tip would be to get some peppermint capsules as they help with referred shoulder tip pain which is fairly common after abdominal surgery.

I bled a lot lot less

I didn't have a lot of bleeding either but I spotted for AGES after. Didn't have any shoulder tip pain either but I did havr back pain from being hunched over.

I has very little bleeding but spotting for ages. I have up on maternity pads after the first couple of weeks as I hated having a brick in my knickers for some light spotting.

I heard they sort of cleared up a bit IYSWIM so there was less bleeding from cs. Don't know how true that is?

I had a week or so of heavy period type bleeding but then only light bleeding after my C/S - nowhere near as bad as a vaginal delivery.

I had quite a lot - as much as from my VBAC as I recall, and went on for weeks.

i bled less too and was "naughtily" usinf tampons after a week-not recommended tho.but yes i think it was less.

I bled less but it went on for as long as it did after my VBAC.

I think they hoover some of it out while you're still open.

i had c-secion for my 1st and it was just like a normal/light period, only it lasted 7-8 weeks. 2nd time round i had vbac and bleeding was tonnes heavier!
