Christing Christ this is embarrassing Blush

12 wks pg with DC2 and my vjj feels really odd. Basically it feels as though something is loose/bulging just above my perineum and hanging out a bit further than it otherwise should. Does this sound like a prolapse or something? Who on earth do I call - my mw?

DD is two and a bit yo so this seems to be a long time coming. I also feel horribly cheated as I've actually been doing my pelvic floor exercises this time round Hmm I have been very constipated recently so straining a lot (Blush Blush) so perhaps that hasn't helped.

Any words of wisdom pleeeeeaase?

congratulations! on the pregnancy, not the bulging fanjo

it does sound a bit odd, i must admit. i would ask the midwife when you see her next

Hee, thanks Grin

I am googling and it does sounds like a prolapse. Argh. Not due to see the MW for nearly a month now (though HV is visiting on Friday to do DD's two year check, perhaps she'd like a look Confused).

I had this with my second pregnancy from about weeks 8 to 12. It wenr by about week 14. I am pretty sure it was a slight prolapse that was made more obvious by the weight of the baby pressing my cervix down iyswim. When my uterus got bigger and lifted out of the pelvic cavity everything lifted back up and felt much more comfortable.

Am expecting everything to be a bit 'wobbly' post birth though! Sad Blush

Thanks :) I have been reading old MN threads and it does seem to be quite common around this stage in second pregnancies. I am doing PEEs like a mentalist though.

I've not really been able to poo Blush very well since having DD so that should have warned me really - I had a longish second stage (90 min) so I assumed it was all just a bit stretched from that. I've also been really badly constipated and had a bitch of a cough for the past two weeks so it all adds up really.

I can't believe I've literally coughed my bottom off

Gosh, is there anything I won't share on the internet? Blush Kind of wish I'd name-changed but um to anyone who knows me.

DH is now laughing at me because I cross my legs every time I cough Blush

It might be a hernia. Get it checked out at the GPs rather than waiting for next MW appointment.

Thanks - how is a hernia different? I can't seem to find any info about it Confused

Think I'm going to call the MWs tomorrow but probably save it as a treat for my new HV on Friday. At least it should distract her from the fact we currently live in a shithole (mid-renovations) :)

Fricking ages ago I posted something on here which made someone suggest prolapse/hernias but I dismissed it at the time and now can't for the life of me remember what I was asking about. Argh.

Hernia is muscle tissue bustin' out and prolapse could be 'heavy' uterus or other internal tissue. Think that's right... Don't worry, I'm not a doctor!
