downs screening

Have just had call from midwife who said I have increased risk - 1 in 71 chance of downs. Help - what do I do? Do I risk amnio? If it says 100% accurate dont think I could get rid of the baby anyway as its our miracle baby I was told I wouldn't have. I had treatment for our DS who is almost 3. Any advice? Anyone in the same boat? At the moment I am completely devastated.

Georgie, I'm in a similar position as yourself- I have been given a 1:153 of DS (I'm 16 weeks). I too have decided against any invasive procedures as I would proceed with the pregnancy anyway regardless.

I admire your decision and as you say you are not going into this blind as you have experience of children with DS.

I wish you all the luck with this pregnancy. Remember the odds are definately in your favour xxx
