Sorry TMI but I am desperate. I'm 12 weeks pregnant with second baby and can't poop. I feel the urge but can't push it out. I also have piles which have been bleeding slightly when I push. I've been eating prunes and drinking warm water but I'm afraid this is past the stage of softening up. I've been trying to go for 2 days, should I go to the hospital?

Buy some glycerine suppositories over the counter.(You can use 2 at a time...)

Start taking regular lactulose.

I had the same problem - you have my sympathy.

Don't worry at two days - I was told not to worry after a week of it! My MW told me not to try. It was the best advice ever. If you can ignore the horrific bloating and heaviness. Then suddenly one day that familiar feeling of 'oh dear, I really have to go NOW' will occur, and your body will empty itself. Well, it worked for me, so I hope it will for you too.

But I would also recommend keeping yourself regular with fybogel or lactulose afterwards to stop it blocking up again.
