..............a baby!!

No only joking we are having a girl a little sister for DD. Poor DP he will be surrounded by pink now. The scan was fantastic would really recommend it baby was in the right position so we got some really good pictures, baby was snuggled up against her placenta having a sleep.

Now we have to find a name for her (back to other thread)!

Awww! Congrats!

GeorginaA · 01/10/2005 19:09

LOL... I even said "a baby" in my head before clicking into the thread

Congratulations - must be fantastic to see everything in that much detail I know I was glued to the screen every time I had a bog standard scan with ds2 even though I had to have one every other week.

spacecadet · 01/10/2005 19:18

fantastic. How do you go about getting a 4d scan? and stupid question, but how are they different from a 3d one?

sweetkitty · 01/10/2005 20:15

thanks yes the scan was brilliant, NHS one didn't tell us the sex so thats why DP agreed.

if you google 3D/4D babyscanning you can see the companies around the countries that do it, I'll try and post a pic later

the intensity of the ultrasound required for a 4D scan may not be very good for your baby.

sweetkitty · 02/10/2005 10:00

Again with everything in pregnancy this is unproven, I think the 15 mins of 4D scanning time is well worth the risk IMO.

I do think if you listened to everything you are not supposed to do in pregnancy you would have to live in a plastic bubble for 9 months. Baby is already swimming in a chemical soup just from the air we breathe.

for the people who want one they are doing 4d scans at the baby show in london end of oct, for £35 for a face photo as a special offer. you have to be between certain weeks to get the best view. I cant remember the link to the show but if you google the baby show I'm sure it will come up..............
and whoever asked the same question I did first time i heard it the difference betwen 3d and 4d is 4d is 3d 'moving'. so all printed pictures will be 3d but watching the baby move on screen is 4d.

congratulations sweetkitty, i have to agree with lockets, 2 girls is great, my dd2 is 4 weeks today.
sorry to crash spacecadet, could you not ask dh if you could have one as a xmas present, it really is a fantastic experience and i would really recommend them.
again, congratulations.

dramaqueen72 is correct. We had a 3d/4d scan. 3D is the pictures and 4d is the moving bit you see on screen and usually given to you in dvd or vhs format.
If you google 3d/4d scans for your area you will be more successful. We had to go to leeds for ours as it was closest and it was £190 ish..Well worth it imo. We knew from our nhs scans that we were having a dd but given our history we wanted to have something special dones for us & dd....Amazing as how she was on the scan was exactly how she was at birth! LOL!!! She even held her hands under her chin exactly like she did on the scan! Bless.
