Coccyx problems

I wondered if anyone else had had coccyx problems in pregnancy? I'm 14+3 and in January I fell down the stairs and hurt my coccyx. I never sought treatment as I knew there wasn't much that could be done, so was just waiting for it to get better. Unfortunately, since I got pg it has been getting much worse and is now very uncomfortable.

Has anyone else had this? I'm going to discuss it with the midwife at my 16 week appointment, but from googling it looks like it could make labour difficult if it doesn't heal.

My sister suffered with her coccyx all the way through her pregnancy. I think it was an old trampolining injury which the relaxin just made worse.

Sorry, no solution, but lots of sympathy.

Thanks Petalouda, I feel like I need the sympathy :o

Do you know if your sister ended up having a caesarean? From what I've read, that seems to be the case for lots of women with coccyx problems.

I had my coccyx removed 12 years ago after it was broken and after that I had three caesareans.

My sister in law broke her coccyx during the birth of her first child, and as a result she had to have a Caesarean for baby no 2. Have you been to the GP/physio to see what can be done? I don't know much about coccyx injuries - maybe there is something they can do for you. Anyway, better to be checked out rather than suffer in silence! Hope it starts feeling better soon.
