Sharp pains in cervix??

CardyMow · 28/12/2010 07:03

I'm 37+2 with dc4. Last night while laying in bed, I kept getting really sharp pains in my cervix. Sharp enough to make me bring my legs up to my tummy IYSWIM. It was almost like someone was digging their nails into my cervix. I didn't sleep well (got to sleep at about 2am, woke up at 6am). I have lower back ain that isn't connected to my SPD, feels more like mild period pains. I am feeling 'heavy' at the bottom of my tummy as well.

Now I know by DC4 you would think I should know if this is 'normal' or not, but I have been induced with all of my other 3 dc's. COuld this be the startings of labour, or is it just a whole new level of pregnancy uncomfortableness??

dc3 for me and i have never had them before either.

not much help but at least you know your not alone Grin

A month! Nooooooo! I keep trying to tell myself that I could still be pregnant in 5 weeks time, but my brain refuses to comprehend that. I want this baby out now, especially if he's going to keep digging his nails into my cervix like that!

Oh yes :(

I was sooo sure this one would be here before xmas, still no sign

CardyMow · 28/12/2010 13:10

I have been for 3 huge poos today - which is really odd for me, I tend to only 'go' every other day. WTF is going on with my body??

Oh, and when are you due, mumatron? My DD is 16/01/11.

OMG 4 days over! I was induced at 34+4 with DD (she was born at 34+5, was due to pre-eclampsia). I was induced at 40 weeks dead on with DS1, and 40+2 with DS2. I've never gone 4 days over! HUGE sympathies to you!

I have been going to the loo a lot more last few days. Pg really isn't much fun is it??

My 1st was 3 days early and my 2nd wasa day late.

Sounds like thngs may be happening for us both though, hopefully!!

CardyMow · 28/12/2010 18:07

I'm hoping so. DP is home from work now, and he says that my 'body language' is different, and I seem 'antsy'. I'm feeling 'odd' at the moment too.

Hope you haven't got too much longer to wait to see your baby.

ooh thats how i felt yesterday, i just couldn't settle. felt like i needed to be up an about all day. made up for it during the night though, slept right through pretty much.

CardyMow · 29/12/2010 09:13

Gah! for the second night in a row, I could only sleep from 2am-6am. And I'm not an early riser - especially in the holidays!! Plus DS2 (7yo) decided to come down with a vomiting bug yesterday night. Superb, eh? I'm hoping that I don't catch it. Luckily he's old enough to use a bowl and not puke over his bed/the floor!

Last night I had BH every 10 mins for 5 hrs. Had a bath...and it all stopped. Getting fed up with this stop-start rubbish. I had the same thing with DS1, think this baby must be B2B as well. Grrrrr!

any more signs?

nothing here, a bit of back ache but i think that is from sitting on my bouncy ball all day.

have just finished my 2nd pineapple but all thats done is take the top layer off my tounge Grin

it's dp's birthday tomorrow so would be extra nice if the baby would come then.

hope your ds is feeling better too.

LotteryWinnersOnAcid · 29/12/2010 20:13

Is going to the loo for number 2s more a sign that labour be more imminent than not, then? Or is it just a sign that there's no more room left for anything to stay in there?! I've been going LOADS (36 weeks tomorrow) over the last couple of days and I have heard it could be a sign that things are starting?

Sorry to hijack the thread, just wondering, as I've been having stabby pains in cervix too and braxton hicks constantly.

CardyMow · 29/12/2010 20:42

I don't know Lottery, but I'm wondering, as I seem to have pooed out twice as much today as I have eaten in the last 2 days!

TWO pineapples Mumatron??!! Won't the heartburn be horrific? Or are you eating them with a Gaviscon chaser?

OP posts:
mumatron · 29/12/2010 20:48

heartburn is the least of my worries. i have no tounge left Sad

i have just warned told dp that we will be having sex tomorrow if there is no signs by then. I'm not sure who is more scared by that Grin

lottery it is said that increased bowel movement can be a sign of labour but i certainly did not have it when i had dd1 and have been having it loads for the past month

why wont this baby just get out??

LotteryWinnersOnAcid · 29/12/2010 21:04

Thanks Loudlass and mumatron for the advice.

I am willing both of your babies out. Grin Hopefully mine will cook for another week or two, even if he is being marinated in poo and stomach acid... I am happy to suffer (not for another SIX WEEKS though, god no).

CardyMow · 30/12/2010 00:02

Oh Mumatron - I tried to get DP to do the deed. He fell asleep on the chair before DD went to bed. Hmm. He obviously really relishes trying to ravish someone who looks like the back end of a bus. Wink.

OP posts:
mumatron · 30/12/2010 11:33

well, it's dp's birthday today so my plan is to send him to the pub, let him get a bit tipsy. either the baby will come because it's really inconvenient or he will be drunk enough i can seduce him!

you know you don't look your best when you have to get your man drunk before he'll slepp with you, lol.

cons appt later so hoping for a date to be induced. i know it's not everyones cup of tea but i REALLY want this baby out now!

CardyMow · 30/12/2010 20:42

I've been induced with all 3 of my other dc, induction wouldn't bother me as much as not knowing when baby will be born, like I am this time.

What did your consultant say? Did you get a date for induction?

OP posts:
mumatron · 30/12/2010 21:45

booked in for next thursday. cons thinks i'll go before then. had sweep done. i was 1cm dilated and my cervix is very favourable apparently. doc said she was tickling the baby's head. she also said that she could quite easily break my waters so if it does come to induction it should be relatively quick.

started getting some really strong contractions earlier and had a very bloody show, hopefully things will start tomorrow. i'm too tired for it tonight.
