Anyone around 28 weeks - what does your tummy feel like?

Just curious really and trying to reassure myself that I'm 'normal'! As you can probably tell it's my first. I had my hands on my tummy last night to feel the baby move and noticed a definite large, hard lump kind of to one side of my tummy button (not on the other side)- could this be the baby or the top of my uterus I can feel, or something else? I was lying down flat on my back and it's only really feelable like that. Sorry if this is a weird question, just wondering (/worrying!) a bit now. Have a midwife appointment later this week where I should get checked and measured so hopefully that will put my mind at rest!

Some people say they can feel their babies foot/hands by that stage. My mum swears she could feel my sisters foot.
It would be worth mentioning it to your midwife but it's fairly normal at this stage the baby is fairly big and has a lot less space so strange goings on do start up. Xmas Smile

im 28+5. I think my baby still has room to turn. Some days my tummy is soft and I feel the the kicks more towards my back. Others, like today my tummy is firm and I feel kicks out front. I think by this stage your uterus is above your belly button by a inch or two. I have seen a little arm or leg when Ive been lying in the bath. This is my second pregnancy. The midwife could not tell what position the baby was in 2 weeks ago. Hoping my check next week will tell more.....
Congrats on the pregnancy btw, you must be due around the same time as me x

Hi
I am 28+2. I can feel either fingers of toes now when I lie on one side. Top of uterus is about two inches above belly. Like you, when I lie on back and feel tummy, I can feel a hard mass on one side. I am convinced it is baby's back as one side feels curved. My tummy does get quite hard at times. Sounds like it is the way your baby lying and prob nothing to worry about.

Good luck!
