I keep having really bad leg and hip pain every time I lie down on my left side. Even if I turn over it still aches. This pain has now gone all the way down to my foot. This pain has made it impossible to sleep and since last Saturday evening have only slept a total of 12 hours. I am exhausted and is making me very depressed. Is anyone else going through the same thing?

I've been havign hip pain until recently.

After one particarly bad night which contiuned into the next day i did the following.

Came home and did about 30 minutes of pregnancy yoga.
spent about 5 minutes doing hip circles on an exersize ball.
had my partner give my back and hips a good massage.
then slept like this ( this is hard to explain) slept on left hand side. placed one pillow under my head, one pillow under my bump one pillow intbtween my thieghts, one pillow between my calves/knee, had partner sleep very close to my back to stop my rolling over.

This has been the best night sleep i've had in about 4 months! I only woke up once.

Sin ce then i've made sure I i sleep with the pillows and so at least yoga or exersize everyday.

My hips are still a little sore when i first wake but oh my god so much better.

Hope this is helpful.

Hi preggos, I also have ridiculous hip pain this week, especially when I was stuck in various queues at Heathrow for 9 hours on Friday! It's making me waddle to the extreme! Mine gets better when I sleep, it's walking or sitting up in bed that aggravates it, though I found a September thread on MN with others who experienced hip pain while sleeping and they recommended using a folded duvet under your sheet.

Like hazchem I try to do more pilates during the day now that I'm not working...it helps for some time.

Definitely talk to your GP/MW when they get back to ensure it's not sciatica or something else, and perhaps they can recommend PT. Feel better!!! :)
