Do clots have to be a miscarraige?

I am now 7 weeks pregnant and have already had 3 scans in the EPU. The first one was at 5.5 weeks because I was having pain. It turned out to be a cyst and we got to see the heartbeat!! The second scan was at 6.5 weeks to check the cyst, which had greatly reduced by then. Again, we saw the heartbeat and also got to see the baby. Two days later, I started bleeding quite heavily and had two large clots. I went to the EPU for emergency scan and was told the baby was fine and growing and the heart is beating.

The Dr. told me that it is nothing to worry about and that it could happen again. Well, now today I am bleeding again - very dark brown blood - but I had a large, solid clot as well. Is it possible to keep having these clots and still have a successful pregnancy? I thought clots meant doomsday.

Please tell me your positive experiences with clotting...

Story in Daily Mail today about women who had difficult experiences but had babies - one was passing clots and was told she had MC but scan showed baby was fine.

I haven't had the bleeding or clotting, sorry. But I did suffer with a cyst myself at roughly the same time as yourself. They scanned me and diagnosed the cyst after some terrible pain. The did tell me that because of the nature of the cyst that there was the possibility of bleeding but it doesn't happen to everyone. They scanned two weeks later and the cyst was resolving. I am now 16+3. I didn't get the bleeding but just wanted to let you know what I was told. I hope all is well for you. x

I had red and brown bleeding and clots from 6-12 weeks with DD and DS. Very scary but all was fine and never found out why it happened. Hope all goes ok.

I've just being told I have an extremely large cyst, they are scanning me again in 10 days as they are unsure whether to let my pregnancy continue, I'm 5w4d :( they did say a bit of bleeding is ok.

A friend had large clots during both of her pregnancies and has two DDs to show for it.

I had a large cyst too in my second pregnancy (11cm) but they left it and said if the pain got bad to come in.

The problem with the cyst thing is if it is the corpeus luteum cyst which everyone has on the ovary the produced the egg (the cyst sustains the pregnancy until the placenta grows) and it has grown too big and is going to twist and causes pain then removing it will end the pregnancy. They said this to me but it turned out the cyst was on the opposite ovary and they just stuck a huge needle in my belly and drained it when I was 10 weeks. I was in a lot of pain before as it was so big. My DS is 3 years old now.

I know it is worrying but get all the info you can and hopefully it will work out ok :)
