Best way to treat thrush when pg

I've got some 1% clotrimazole cream from chemist but it's taking ages - well a week nearly.
Should I go to dr or is this the best I can hope for?

Natural yoghurt will help cool and soothe and return the ph balance back to normal. And a warm bath with some salt in will help the skin heal. Am a regular sufferer of Thrush cos of my diabetes and these two things do help

My doc gave me a stronger one to use and I had a pessary too. Only can't use a pessary if you have a low lying placenta.

Go to the docs, it will be free too.

I have resorted to yoghurt - weirdest thing I have EVER done with my lady parts. That helped. How often should one do it? If more than once per day, will invest in some Basics yoghurt.

Otherwise, vagisil. £3.95 from Superdrug and the doctor said it was fine. Doesn't really heal anything but stops you feeling so yucky.

Will try the salty bath!

Midwife said often over the counter cream doesn't shift it (or at least not permanently). Have just been prescribed cream + pessaries to use 3 nights in a row.

Yoghurt will help the itch but probably not deal with the actual candida wherever they are hiding out.

Little actimel probiotic drink every day worked for me , kept it away. You can buy the tesco / own brand one it's much cheaper.

Go to Drs for pessary to clear up the exisiting thrush.

I've had thrush on and off throughout pg and have had a number of pessaries, which did shift it for me, but it always returns a few days/weeks later. I'm almost permenantly on that 1% cream now.

My mw has said avoiding foods with yeast in (like bread) and eating probiotic yoghurt and avoiding too much sugary foods can help. I've also been prescribed 'epaderm' cream to wash my lady bits with instead of soap (I am a regular thrush sufferer due to extremely sensitive skin). Also strong washing powders can cause/aggravate thrush - I use a super gentle non bio. Despite doing all this though I still get thrush alot in pg - I think some people are more prone than others. If it's really uncomfy I'd go back to GP as they can give you a different type of anti fungal which might react better for you this time.

The will take ages and possibly not work because the infection is inside - at least that's what my doc told me.

She gave a prescription for a pessary and cleared it up over night.

i had this on and off in last pg and poor ds was born with it all in his mouth which took a few weeks to clear with awful medicine, my symptoms had cleared but ds got it, im now 6 weeks pg and i think its flaring up again, its awful, think ill be going docs to get pessary as the cream just seem to keep it at bay but not clear completely.

If normal treatment doesn't work try acidophilus capsules & garlic capsules. Thrush cream will help with the itching so keep using the cream & try acidophilus capsules & garlic capsules.
