I'm about 13 weeks pregnant. Today, and for a couple of days last week, I've had period-type pains. I have been quite constipated, so I wondered of it was that, but I'm not sure. Is it something normal, or something I should get checked? I can't remember this last time.

I got that - period pains for the first 14 weeks or so. Also, constipation is really common - you might want to invest in some Prune juice (miracle worker!)or some Fibergel.

If you need reassurance just give the midwife a call - that's what they're there for!! Smile

The midwife isn't contactable or helpful, unfortunately. It's doctor or nothing, the midwives have inspired zero confidence in me. (Told me PND is the same as PTSD, and tried hard to convince me to have a homebirth during the conversation about DTD1's stillbirth and DTD2's 32 week prematurity). I simply don't trust their opinions sadly.

Period pains v normal due to stretching. I am 27 weeks and still have the odd day with these pains. I think they are made worse by gas constipation. Eat 4/5 clementines together every day - works a treat. I had one bout of bad constipation but since eating clems, not once!

I recall having terrible pains around this time, a bit like there just wasn't enough room behind my stomach muscles for everything that was there if that makes sense. I put it down to a combination of wind, constipation, uterus moving out of my pelvis and general growth.

I couldn't face fruit or vegetables in the the first 15 weeks, since I've been eating more normally I've felt alot better.
