Sexing scan in Colchester Area??

Help!

DH and I have decided that we would like to find out the sex of our baby, but don't want a 3d/4d scan... happy to wait and see what our LO looks like when they arrive Xmas Smile

This might seem odd but we want to know out of curiosity (we will still have boy and girl names picked, because knowing my luck we'd be in the percentage where it would be wrong lol)... but it would be nice to know and to help DH bond, as I get all the 'fun'!

North Essex PCT has a no sexing policy - so I am trying to find a reputable company who does regular 2d scans - has anyone used a company/sonographer they can happily recommend?

Erm - I don't know about 2d scans, but I did have a 3d scan done on Severalls industrial estate by a lovely lady who gave us lots more photos than she charged for. Think it was about £85, Most definately will not be wrong (VERY clear picture of a winkle!), we could take our other 3 dc's in with us.

I think that the Oaks hospital from what I've heard does do 2d sexing scans, that might be worth looking into.

(Colchester lady here). HTH.

Also try asking on MN local.

I had a sexing scan at a clinic just past the Gen Hosp. The sonographer came over from the hosp to do it. Cost (like above) around £85. Had to get a refferal from gp to go there.

Thanks for the advice... my GP actually said she would happily do our scan if she could get her hands on a machine - she has worked in GYN.
I'll think on the 3D scan - probably sounds strange but it just makes me feel a bit funny looking at them - I think it is the colour of the picture!

Hope you both have a wonderful Christmas Xmas Smile

This is dc4 for me, 3d scans weren't widely available with my others, as they are 12yo, 8yo and 7yo. I have to say, it was one of the most amazing exeperiences of my life. You could see every hair on his head, he stuck his tongue out at us and then stuffed his fingers up his nose! It was absolutely amazing.

Hi, there is a place near Ipswich that does 2d sexing scan for £55. It's called A 4d baby. Many of my friends have used them and been pleased with the service. A little bit of a way from Colchester though! Hope that helps.

Thanks Milkybrew - I am in Clacton so Ipswich is about the same travel time, I would prefer 2D - feel a bit queasy looking at 3d/4d ones... kinda of weird I know lol - hope you all have a had a wonderful Christmas x

Hi chelleyve, did you book a scan with A 4D baby? I wondered as I have booked one for next week! Completely agree the 4D ones are a bit odd! My sis had a DVD of hers and to be honest it really freaked me out!
